Antigua and Barbuda decides by passport. Its tourist authority lists the visa-exempt passports and says citizens of any country not on the lists need a visa, applied for before the visit on its online portal. A UAE residence permit is not on the lists. We check your passport and file the e-visa.
Who is exempt
The tourist authority's list includes EU member states, Commonwealth states, and others such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Japan, Switzerland, Turkey and the USA. Chinese and Cuban citizens are exempt only for trips of up to 30 days.
Holders of any other passport apply for the visa. If you are Indian, Filipino, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, Nepali, Sri Lankan, Nigerian or Kenyan, check whether your country appears on the list. Several Commonwealth states do, and that decides your case.
UAE passports
Some travel sites say UAE citizens enter visa-free. The exempt list on the tourist authority page does not name the UAE, and we could not open the government immigration site to settle it. Until we can, we treat UAE passports as unconfirmed.
How the e-visa works
The tourist authority says to apply on the online portal, evisa.immigration.gov.ag. The page we read gave no fee or processing time, and the portal did not open for us. We do not quote either. You get the current figures from your adviser on WhatsApp.
Documents
Expect a passport valid beyond the stay, a photo, your UAE residence permit, proof of where you stay and a return ticket. We confirm the list on the portal before we file.
Embassy help
Antigua and Barbuda has an embassy in Abu Dhabi, per its notice of . Citizens living in the UAE were asked to register there. The notice does not cover visas for foreigners.
Refusals
The portal reasons are not visible to us. Missing papers, a short passport or vague plans are the common causes in visa files.
