No official page we checked gives a visa on arrival because you hold UAE residence. Saudi Arabia does give a tourist visa on arrival to holders of US, UK or Schengen visas. Bahrain and Kuwait list nationalities that can get one. Oman's GCC Resident Visa is reported to work on arrival, unconfirmed. Georgia and Armenia need no visa at all for many residents.
Why residence rarely gets you a visa at the airport
Airlines and border officers work from the destination's rules, and those rules are mostly written around passports. Your Emirates ID tells them where you live. It rarely changes what visa you need.
Where a residence permit does matter, it is usually a US, UK, Schengen or EU one. Saudi Arabia and Turkey both reward those documents. The UAE residence on its own counts in a smaller set of places, and mostly for a visa you apply for before you travel, not one stamped at the counter.
If you searched "UAE residence visa on arrival" hoping to enter Dubai, that is a different topic. See UAE visa on arrival for passports stamped at Dubai airport, and Dubai visa for GCC residents if you live elsewhere in the Gulf.
Confirmed on-arrival options for people living in the UAE
| Country | On-arrival option | Who qualifies | Based on |

| Kuwait | Visa on arrival | Nationalities on the MOI list, such as the UK, US, EU states, Japan, Turkey, Georgia, Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea | Passport |

Reported, not confirmed
Oman. The Royal Oman Police describe a GCC Resident Visa for foreign residents of GCC countries, single entry, four weeks, extendable by one week. It needs no sponsor, but your profession must be on Oman's approved list. Gulf News says it is also issued on arrival at Muscat airport and at land borders. The ROP page we read only presents it as an eVisa. Apply online before you drive to the border or fly to Muscat, and you avoid the question. Full detail on Oman visa for UAE residents.
Egypt, Armenia, Azerbaijan. Many guides say UAE residents can get a visa on arrival in these countries. We did not find that on an official page. Egypt's e-visa portal does not mention GCC residence. Armenia's foreign ministry page we read covers its visa exemption and e-visa, not an on-arrival visa for residents. Azerbaijan's e-visa site blocked our checks. Use the e-visa route unless your airline confirms otherwise in writing.
No visa needed, so nothing to get on arrival
Two countries skip the visa altogether for many residents:
- Georgia: any holder of a UAE visa or residence permit, 90 days in any 180.
- Armenia: nationals of 111 listed countries whose UAE residence is valid six months from entry, up to 180 days within one year, until .
These are entry without a visa, which is better than a visa on arrival: no fee and no queue at a visa desk. See visa-free countries for UAE residents for the full rules.
Visas you apply for, often mistaken for on-arrival ones
- Qatar: the GCC Resident Visa (A2) is applied for on Hayya and costs QAR 100, paid when approved. It is single entry. Your residence must be valid six months, and the job title must match your permit.
- Saudi Arabia: GCC residents apply for the tourist eVisa online or through the embassy. It is multiple entry, valid one year, with up to 90 days of stay.
- Turkey: some nationalities with a Schengen, US, UK or Ireland visa or residence get a one-month e-visa. Apply on evisa.gov.tr before travel. The UAE residence does not qualify.
More on each: Qatar visa for UAE residents, Saudi visa for UAE residents and Turkey visa for UAE residents.
Checks before you fly on an on-arrival plan
- Confirm your nationality is on the destination's own list, not a blog's.
- Read the "conditions apply" text in full. Bahrain uses those words for a reason.
- If the option depends on a US, UK or Schengen visa, check it is valid on your arrival date.
- Carry your Emirates ID, return ticket and hotel booking.
- Ask the airline. They can refuse boarding in Dubai if they think you will be turned back.
