Burundi requires a visa. UK government advice says a one-month visa costs USD 90 and is valid for single and multiple entries. You apply online before you fly and carry the validation certificate. We check which route fits your passport and prepare the application for you.
What the source says
UK advice is written for British travellers. Treat it as a guide to the process, since your passport may be treated differently.
| Item | What it says |
|---|---|
| Visa | Required |
| One-month visa fee | USD 90, online or in cash on arrival |
| Application | Online, before you fly |
| On landing | Show the validation certificate |
| Passport | 6 months beyond arrival, one blank page |
| Health | Yellow fever certificate |
From the UK government's Burundi entry page, read . It quotes no dirham fee, so we give none.
Travel warning
The UK Foreign Office advises against all travel to parts of Bujumbura and Butanyerera provinces. These are the areas near Kibira National Park, the road north of Bujumbura airport towards Cibitoke, and the DRC border. Its page, updated in May, says the Rwandan border is closed and the Tanzanian border works normally. Ask your insurer whether your policy covers the places you plan to visit.
Consulate in Dubai
The UAE foreign ministry lists the Consulate of the Republic of Burundi in Dubai. It does not list a Burundi embassy in Abu Dhabi. We do not publish contact details. For a visa question that the online form cannot answer, ask the consulate.
What to prepare
- Passport valid for at least 6 months after arrival with a free page
- Passport photo and travel dates
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate
- Proof of where you stay
- Your Emirates ID and residence permit, which the airline may ask to see in Dubai
Why it matters for UAE residents
Few flights from the UAE reach Bujumbura without a stop. A missing validation certificate can stop you at the first check-in in Dubai.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy and travel dates on WhatsApp or the form on this page. An adviser checks the e-visa route and the current fee for your passport, then gives one total price before you pay. The team prepares the online application and follows it up. We are a private visa service. Burundi decides every visa.
If a visa is refused, the government keeps its fee. Your adviser tells you in writing, before payment, what part of our total comes back, if any.
