Bahamians do not need a visa for the UAE. The foreign ministry lists the Commonwealth of the Bahamas as visa free, and you get a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid six months, for up to 90 days in total. The Bahamas also signed a visa abolition agreement with the UAE. We still help with passport checks, extensions and visas for relatives.
What the Bahamas government says
The Bahamas opened an embassy in Abu Dhabi, announced on . It serves the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and gives consular services to Bahamians in the region. The Passport Office opened a passport office there on .
The Bahamas foreign ministry issued a Middle East advisory on . It rated the UAE "Exercise High Degree of Caution" and told nationals to shelter in place until further notice. Read the current ministry notice before you book, since advice like this changes.
Cost and stay
Entry is free for up to 90 days. If you want longer, ICP charges AED 100 to apply and AED 500 for the extension. Every day past the permit costs AED 50. Work is not allowed on a visit entry, and tourist stays total up to 120 days. Checked on the ICP service pages in .
What we do for Bahamian travellers
- Check passport validity and clean pages.
- Extend a stay before the 90 days run out.
- File visit visas for relatives or friends with other passports.
- Point you to the right route if you plan to work or live in the UAE.
Visiting a Bahamian in the UAE
Bahamians who live here can sponsor relatives through ICP. The sponsor income rule is AED 4,000 a month for a first-degree relative, AED 8,000 for a second or third degree and AED 15,000 for a friend. See our family visit visa guide.
How it works with us
Send us the photo page of your passport and your travel dates. An adviser says what applies to you. For an extension or a relative's visa you get one total up front, and the team files the request and sends the result. We are a private visa service and the authorities decide each application.
A refusal means the government keeps its fees. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our total would come back, if any.
