A Benin passport cannot enter the UAE without a visa. The foreign ministry puts Benin on its visa required list. A tourist visa filed by a Dubai tourism firm, hotel or airline costs AED 210 for 30 days or AED 315 for 60 days at GDRFA, single entry, with 48 hours listed. A relative with UAE residence can sponsor you instead.
Choose the route
- Nobody in the UAE: a tourist visa from a Dubai firm, hotel or airline.
- A resident relative or friend: an ICP visit visa on their sponsorship.
- A job: not a visit visa. Your employer files the work permit.

If you need more time
A visit can be extended inside the UAE for an AED 100 application and an AED 500 fee, up to 120 days of tourist stay in total. Each day past the permit costs AED 50. See extend a Dubai visa.
Sponsor rules
ICP sets sponsor income by relationship: AED 4,000 a month for parents, spouse or children, AED 8,000 for siblings and AED 15,000 for a friend. The AED 1,000 guarantee for a single entry visit is refundable.
What you send from Cotonou
A Benin passport with at least six months left, a colour scan of the photo page, one photo on white, a return ticket and health insurance that works in the UAE.
Where is the embassy
A directory lists a Benin embassy in Abu Dhabi. We could not confirm it on a Benin government page, so ask the foreign ministry in Cotonou. Applying for a tourist visa needs no embassy visit.
