Botswana lets Emiratis in without a visa. The UAE does not return the favour. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the Republic of Botswana as visa required, so a Botswana passport needs a visa before boarding. Tourist visas run AED 210 for 30 days and AED 315 for 60 days at GDRFA, single entry.
The one-way exemption
The UAE foreign ministry reported on that Botswana lets UAE citizens travel without a prior entry visa for up to 90 days. That helps Emiratis in Gaborone. It does nothing for you in Dubai. If you live in the UAE and want Botswana, see Botswana visa for UAE residents.
GDRFA fees
| Length | Single entry | Multiple entry |
|---|---|---|
| 30 days | AED 210 | AED 315 |
| 60 days | AED 315 | AED 525 |

What goes in the file
GDRFA names the conditions: a passport valid for 6 months, a return ticket and health insurance valid in the UAE. Add the photo page scan and a photo. A family visit needs the host's Emirates ID and salary proof, and GDRFA lists 48 hours for a complete tourist file.
Sponsoring a relative
Where your host holds UAE residence, an ICP visit visa costs AED 100 for the application plus AED 100 per month. Salary tiers are AED 4,000 for a first degree relative and AED 8,000 for a sibling.
Embassy
We found no official page that names a Botswana mission in the UAE. For a lost passport, ask the foreign ministry of Botswana which office serves you.
After arrival
Leave before the last day of the visa. A late exit costs AED 50 a day.
How it works with us
Tell us when you fly and send the passport photo page. An adviser names the visa type and one total price. Once you agree, the team files, replies to GDRFA and sends you the e-visa. We are a private visa service, and GDRFA or ICP makes the call.
If a visa is refused, the government keeps its fee. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our total comes back, if any.
