Iraqi citizens need a UAE visa issued before they fly to Dubai, and the file must include a copy of the Iraqi national ID card. A Dubai tourism company applies to GDRFA for you. The tourist visa costs AED 210 for 30 days or AED 315 for 60 days, VAT included, and GDRFA states 48 hours. A relative living in the UAE can sponsor a visit visa instead.

Price of a Dubai visa for Iraqis

The government fee does not depend on nationality. What changes the price is how long you stay and how many times you enter.

Your trip Visa to ask for GDRFA fee
One visit, up to a month 30 days, single entry AED 210
One visit, up to two months 60 days, single entry AED 315
Several short trips in a month 30 days, multiple entry AED 315
In and out over two months 60 days, multiple entry AED 525
Staying longer than planned Tourist visa extension AED 600 plus 5% VAT

A tourist visa can be extended once or more, up to 120 days in total. Extensions are filed through an accredited tourism office, not by you directly. See Dubai visa extension.

Agency prices sit above the GDRFA fee. Dubai agencies publish about AED 340 to AED 800 for a 30-day single entry visa (8 agencies, checked ). For a side by side of all lengths, see Dubai visa price.

The national ID copy: two versions of one rule

Both GDRFA and the Emirates airline ask for an Iraqi ID, but they describe it differently.

Source Who it applies to Wording
GDRFA tourist visa pages Iraqi nationals, wherever they live "Identity card for the country of origin for some nationalities"
Emirates visa page Visitors whose country of residence is Iraq "National ID Card"

The difference matters if you are Iraqi and live elsewhere, for example in Jordan, Turkey or Europe. Emirates may not ask you, but GDRFA, which issues Dubai tourist visas, still lists Iraq by nationality. Include the copy every time.

How to send it:

  • A colour scan of the national ID card, edges visible.
  • Names spelled the same way as in the passport. Arabic names can be written in English in more than one way, so compare them before filing.
  • A valid card. If yours is about to expire, renew it first.

What applies to Iraqis and what does not

Two things cause confusion online.

  • An old circular. In the media reported a pause on new visas for 13 countries, Iraq among them. The UAE never confirmed it. We found no restriction on Iraqi visitors from the years since, as of .
  • A recent travel ban that is not about you. On MOFA banned Emiratis from travelling to Iran, Lebanon and Iraq. That rule is about UAE citizens leaving. It does not stop Iraqis from coming to the UAE.

MOFA still lists Iraq as visa required.

Iraqis living outside Iraq

If you live in a GCC country, GDRFA has an entry visa for GCC residents. The residence must be valid for at least a year and show a profession on the approved list. GDRFA charges AED 52.5 service, AED 100 application and AED 100 issuance, and states 48 hours. Details on the GCC residents page.

If you live in Europe or elsewhere, the normal tourist visa applies. A US, UK or EU visa in an Iraqi passport does not open a visa on arrival; that ICP route covers India and six other nationalities only.

Documents checklist

  • Iraqi passport valid for at least 6 months on arrival.
  • National ID card copy.
  • Photo on a white background, no hat or sunglasses.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • UAE-valid health insurance.
  • For a relative's visit visa: sponsor's residence, Emirates ID and salary certificate.

Processing time

GDRFA states 48 hours for a tourist visa after the file is complete. ICP states 2 days for visit visas filed by a relative. A missing ID copy stops an Iraqi file until it arrives. GDRFA gives 30 days to provide a missing document before it cancels the request. You can also file through a sponsor online; see apply for a Dubai visa online.

Why Iraqi files are refused or delayed

  • No national ID copy, or an expired card.
  • Different spellings of the name on ID, passport and ticket.
  • A sponsor below ICP's salary level: AED 4,000 a month for close family, AED 8,000 for siblings and cousins, AED 15,000 for friends.
  • A previous overstay or open case in the UAE.

How it works with us

Send the Iraqi passport page, the national ID copy and your travel dates on WhatsApp, or use the form on this page. A visa adviser compares the spellings on both documents and suggests the length and entry type that fit your plans, so you do not pay for an extension you could have avoided. You get one total price, confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay. The team files with GDRFA, deals with any follow-up request, and emails the e-visa.

DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, not GDRFA, ICP or an embassy. The authorities decide each application. If a visa is refused, the authorities keep the government fee. Before you pay, the adviser confirms in writing which part of the total, if any, is returned in that case.

Questions people ask

What is the Dubai visa price for an Iraqi passport?

The GDRFA fee is AED 210 for 30 days and AED 315 for 60 days on a single entry tourist visa, VAT included. Multiple entry costs AED 315 or AED 525. Agency prices are higher because they add a service fee.

Which Iraqi ID card should I send with my Dubai visa application?

Send a clear colour copy of your Iraqi national ID card. GDRFA asks for an identity card from the country of origin, and the Emirates airline page asks visitors from Iraq for their National ID Card.

I am Iraqi and live in Jordan. Does the ID rule still apply to me?

Under GDRFA's wording, yes, because it goes by nationality. The Emirates list goes by country of residence instead, so it may not ask. Include the copy so the file passes either check.

Can an Iraqi extend a Dubai tourist visa?

Yes. GDRFA allows a tourist visa to be extended once or more, up to 120 days in total. The fee is AED 600 plus 5% VAT, filed through an accredited tourism office.

Is there a UAE ban on visas for Iraqis?

We found no current official ban. A media report from years ago listed Iraq among countries facing a pause, and the UAE never confirmed it. A recent MOFA travel ban concerns Emiratis going to Iraq, not Iraqis coming to the UAE.

Can Iraqis living in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait visit Dubai?

They can ask for the GDRFA entry visa for GCC residents. It needs a residence valid for at least a year and an approved profession printed on it. GDRFA fees are AED 52.5 service, AED 100 application and AED 100 issuance.
