Dubai visa for Jordanians

Jordanian citizens need a UAE visa before they board. Most use a GDRFA tourist visa from AED 210, and Jordanians resident in another Gulf state may qualify for the GCC resident visa.

Visa required

Last updated

Jordanians need a UAE visa issued before they fly to Dubai. Jordan is on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "visa required" list. From Amman, the usual choice is a GDRFA tourist visa at AED 210 for 30 days, ready in about 48 hours. If you live in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman or Bahrain, check the GCC resident visa first.

Which route suits you

Start with where you live, not with your passport.

  • You live in Jordan. Use a tourist visa, or a visit visa if a relative in the UAE sponsors you.
  • You live in another GCC state. Check the entry visa for GCC residents. It depends on your profession.
  • You fly to Dubai often for work. Compare the multiple entry tourist visa with the 5-year visa.
  • You only change planes in Dubai. A transit visa may be enough (Dubai transit visa).

A US, UK or EU visa does not create a shortcut for a Jordanian passport. The ICP residence-abroad visa is limited to seven other nationalities.

Jordanians resident in the Gulf

Many Jordanians live and work in a neighbouring Gulf country. For them, GDRFA and ICP both run an entry visa for GCC residents.

GDRFA (Dubai) ICP (other emirates)
Fees AED 52.5 service, AED 100 application, AED 100 issuance AED 100 application, AED 100 issuance, AED 100 smart services
Main condition Valid GCC residence, profession on the approved list Valid GCC residence; read the ICP terms for the rest
Stated time 48 hours 2 days

The u.ae portal gives a stay of 30 days, extendable once for 30 days, and asks for a passport valid 6 months. The pages disagree on the entry window: u.ae says the permit is valid 30 days from issue, ICP says 60 days. Use the shorter one when you book. Your spouse and children living with you can be added. The GCC residents visa page goes through the profession question in detail.

Tourist visa from Amman

A Dubai tourism establishment files it for you. GDRFA fees with VAT: AED 210 for 30 days one entry, AED 315 for 60 days one entry, AED 315 for 30 days multiple and AED 525 for 60 days multiple. Source: GDRFA tourist visa pages, checked .

Published prices of 8 Dubai agencies run from about AED 340 to AED 800 for 30 days single entry (checked ). That is the market range, not our price.

Frequent business trips

If you fly in every few weeks, single entry visas add up. Two options:

  1. Multiple entry, 30 or 60 days. You can leave and return inside the period. See multiple entry visa.
  2. 5-year multiple entry tourist visa. ICP charges AED 100 application, AED 500 issuance, AED 100 smart services, a AED 3,000 guarantee and a AED 20 deposit fee: AED 3,720 in all. You need a bank balance of USD 4,000 over the last 6 months and UAE health insurance. Each stay is up to 90 days, 180 days a year at most. More on the 5-year Dubai visa page.

What to send

  • Jordanian passport valid at least 6 months from entry
  • Bio page scan in colour
  • Photo on a white background
  • Return or onward ticket
  • UAE-valid health insurance
  • GCC route: your GCC residence copy showing the profession
  • 5-year visa: 6 months of bank statements

Reasons Jordanian applications stall

  • The GCC residence lists a profession GDRFA does not accept for that route.
  • The GCC residence is close to expiry.
  • Bank statements for the 5-year visa show a balance under USD 4,000 for part of the 6 months.
  • The photo or passport scan is cropped or blurred.

Processing time and stay limits

GDRFA states 48 hours, ICP 2 days. A tourist visa can be extended for AED 600 plus 5% VAT, up to 120 days of total stay (Dubai visa extension). Overstay fines are AED 50 a day.

How it works with us

Send a copy of your passport and, if you live in the Gulf, your residence card. Use WhatsApp or the form on this page. A visa adviser looks at where you live, how often you travel and how long you stay, then recommends one visa. You get one total price on WhatsApp before you pay. Our processing partners file it with GDRFA or ICP and keep track of it until the e-visa arrives in your inbox. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private service. The decision always belongs to the UAE authorities.

Refused visas do not get their government fees back from the authorities. Before payment, your adviser tells you in writing what part of the total, if any, would be returned to you.

Questions people ask

Do Jordanian citizens need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows Jordan as visa required. The visa is issued electronically before you travel, through a Dubai tourism establishment, an airline or a sponsor in the UAE.

I am Jordanian and live in Saudi Arabia. Can I get the GCC resident visa?

Possibly. GDRFA needs a valid GCC residence and a profession on its approved list, judged case by case. The residence copy must show your job title. If your profession is not accepted, a normal tourist visa still works.

How long can I stay on the GCC resident visa?

The u.ae portal says 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days. Official pages differ on how long you have to enter after issue, 30 days on u.ae and 60 days on ICP, so travel early to be safe.

Is the 5-year tourist visa worth it for a Jordanian business traveller?

If you visit several times a year, it can be. It costs AED 3,720 in all through ICP, of which AED 3,000 is a refundable guarantee. Each stay can be up to 90 days, with 180 days a year at most.

Can I extend a Dubai tourist visa as a Jordanian?

Yes. GDRFA lists the extension at AED 600 plus 5% VAT, with a total tourist stay of up to 120 days. The extension must be filed by the tourism office that sponsors your visa.
