Dubai visa for Kazakh citizens

Citizens of Kazakhstan need no visa for a short Dubai trip: a free 30-day stamp on arrival. Job hunting or a longer business stay needs its own GDRFA visa.

Visa on arrival, 30 days

Last updated

Citizens of Kazakhstan can visit Dubai without a visa. Your passport is stamped with a free 30-day visit visa on arrival, if it has 6 months of validity. For job hunting, setting up a company or a stay past 30 days, apply for a GDRFA visa instead: the job seeker and business visas run 60, 90 or 120 days, from AED 200 plus VAT.

Your 30 days at Dubai airport

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows Kazakhstan as Visa Free. The Emirates visa page lists Kazakhstan with the passports that get "a 30-day visit visa free of charge" stamped on landing. The visa-free deal dates from , when ordinary Kazakh passports could start staying up to 30 days, according to The Astana Times at the time.

Nothing to fill in before you fly. Carry the passport you will travel on, a return ticket and your hotel details. The airport stamp is the start date of your 30 days, so photograph it.

A visit stamp is for visiting. It does not let you sign on with an employer and start work. If Dubai is more than a holiday, pick the visa that matches the purpose below.

Three reasons Kazakh visitors need more than 30 days

Looking for a job

The job seeker visit visa needs no sponsor and no job offer. You qualify with a bachelor's degree and either a MOHRE skill level of 1, 2 or 3, or a degree from one of the top 500 universities in the world, earned within the last 2 years. It is one trip only. Have a colour photo, your passport and the attested degree certificate ready.

Setting up or exploring a business

GDRFA's visit visa to explore business opportunities is also sponsor-free and comes in single or multiple entry. You show proof of investment. u.ae also lists being financially solvent and working as a professional in your field at home.

A job offer or residence

Once an employer or your own company issues a work or residence entry permit, you do not need to fly to Almaty and back. GDRFA's Status Amendment switches you inside the country. It needs the new visa and the cancellation of the old permit. ICP then gives you 60 days from entry to finish the residence steps. Our change visa status in the UAE page walks through it.

Fees at a glance

Visa or service Official fee
Job seeker visit visa, 60 / 90 / 120 days AED 200 / AED 300 / AED 400, plus 5% VAT
Business exploration visit visa, 60 / 90 / 120 days AED 200 / AED 300 / AED 400, plus 5% VAT
Security for both AED 1,000 refundable, plus AED 20 and AED 40 fees
Extra when you apply from inside the UAE AED 500 + AED 10 + AED 10
Status Amendment AED 500 + AED 10 + AED 10
Visit or tourism extension, ICP AED 100 application + AED 500 extension
Overstay fine AED 50 a day

Only a holiday, and you just want a little longer than 30 days? ICP caps tourist visits at 120 days in total. Whether the free stamp itself can be extended is not spelled out for 30-day passports, so a new tourist visa issued from inside is often the safer route. See Dubai visa extension.

What Dubai agencies charge

Dubai visa agencies publish about AED 1,100 to AED 1,200 for a 30-day tourist visa extension inside the UAE (published prices of 3 Dubai agencies, checked ). For a status change service there is no range: only one agency lists a price. We give you one total price on WhatsApp before you pay.

Documents by visa

Job seeker visa

  • Passport valid 6 months or more
  • Colour photo
  • Bachelor's degree certificate, attested

Business exploration visa

  • Passport valid 6 months or more
  • Photo
  • Proof of investment, such as company documents or bank papers

Status Amendment

  • Your passport and the sponsor's passport
  • The sponsor's residence permit
  • The new entry permit
  • The cancelled previous permit

Processing time

GDRFA states 48 hours for the job seeker visa, the business exploration visa and the Status Amendment once the file is complete. Attesting a degree happens before you apply, so start it early. See Dubai visa processing time for other services.

Where Kazakh applications slip

  • A degree that is not attested, for the job seeker visa.
  • No real proof of investment for the business visa.
  • Applying after the 30-day stamp has ended, so fines start first.
  • A passport with under 6 months left.
  • Missing papers not added within 30 days, which cancels the GDRFA request.

Overstaying the stamp

Each day past your 30 days costs AED 50 on visit permits. Look up any fine on the GDRFA fines inquiry page with your passport number and pay before you leave. If you need to leave after a violation, ICP's departure permit costs AED 200 plus AED 100 smart services. Read the UAE overstay fine guide.

How it works with us

Tell us what brings you to Dubai: a job search, a company, an offer already signed, or simply a longer holiday. Send the passport page and your arrival stamp on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser checks whether you qualify for the job seeker or business visa and what papers are missing. You get one total price before paying. Our processing partners file with GDRFA, answer any query, and send the visa or status change approval when it is issued. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. GDRFA or ICP decides each application.

The authorities keep their fees when a visa is refused. Before you pay, the adviser states in writing whether any part of the total is returned if the answer is no.

How a Kazakh visitor moves from the free stamp to a longer visa

  1. Decide what the stay is for

Holiday, job hunting, setting up a business or a job offer. Each one has a different visa.

  2. Check you qualify

The job seeker visa needs a degree and a MOHRE skill level; the business visa needs proof of investment.

  3. Apply before day 30

Inside the UAE, GDRFA adds an inside-country fee, so you do not have to fly out.

  4. Pay the security deposit

Job seeker and business visas carry a refundable AED 1,000 security plus small fees.

  5. Switch status when the new permit is ready

For work or residence, the Status Amendment moves you onto the new permit and cancels the old one.

Can I look for a job in Dubai on the 30-day stamp?

The stamp is a visit permit. For a proper job search the UAE has a dedicated job seeker visit visa of 60, 90 or 120 days with no sponsor. You need a bachelor's degree and MOHRE skill level 1, 2 or 3, or a degree from a top 500 university.

I want to open a company in Dubai. Which visa do I come on?

How do I switch from the visit stamp to a work or residence visa?

Your employer or company applies for the new entry permit, then GDRFA's Status Amendment changes you over inside the country. The fee is AED 500 plus AED 10 and AED 10, and the previous permit is cancelled.

Since when can Kazakhs enter the UAE without a visa?

The Astana Times reported that ordinary Kazakh passports could stay up to 30 days without a visa from 10 March, in its report at the time. Today's rule is the 30-day free stamp on the Emirates list.
