Dubai visa for Moroccans

A Moroccan passport needs a UAE visa issued in advance. The GDRFA tourist visa is AED 210 for 30 days, filed for you by a Dubai tourism company, an airline or a relative.

Visa required

Last updated

Moroccan citizens need a Dubai visa issued before they travel. Morocco is on the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "visa required" list, and that stays true if you live in France, Spain, Italy or Belgium. The GDRFA tourist visa costs AED 210 for 30 days and AED 315 for 60 days, and GDRFA states 48 hours once the file is complete.

Living in Morocco or in Europe: the same rule

Many Moroccan travellers to Dubai fly from Europe, not from Casablanca. Your residence card there does not change the visa you need. The ICP visa for people holding a US, UK or EU visa or residence is open only to India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa. Morocco is not on that list, so plan for a normal visa wherever you start the trip.

What your European residence can do is make the file look stronger: a return flight to Madrid or Paris shows you are going home.

Three ways to get the visa

Through a Dubai tourism company

Tourists cannot apply to GDRFA themselves. A licensed tourism establishment, a hotel or a travel agency files it for you and sends the e-visa by email.

GDRFA tourist visa One entry Multiple entries
30 days AED 210 AED 315
60 days AED 315 AED 525

Dubai visa agencies publish about AED 340 to AED 800 for a 30-day single entry visa (published prices of 8 Dubai agencies, checked ). The gap above AED 210 is their service fee. See the 30-day Dubai visa page for what that usually covers.

Through the airline

If you fly Emirates, the airline can arrange the visa. It lists US$90 for 30 days single entry, US$136 for 30 days multiple, US$177 for 60 days single and US$231 for 60 days multiple. You need an Emirates return ticket and Emirates asks for at least 4 working days before arrival. These are airline prices, not government fees.

Through family in the UAE

A Moroccan resident in Dubai can sponsor a relative on the GDRFA visit visa. One entry costs AED 200 for 30 days, AED 300 for 60 days or AED 400 for 90 days, plus 5% VAT. GDRFA adds medical insurance (AED 40, AED 60 or AED 90 by length), a refundable AED 1,000 deposit and the AED 20 and AED 40 deposit fees. Sponsors in the other emirates apply through ICP instead. Income tiers and relationship degrees are on the family visit visa page.

A word on online rumours

You will find forum posts saying young Moroccan women are refused. We did not find any age or gender rule for Moroccan visitors on the GDRFA, ICP or MOFA pages we checked. We do not repeat forum claims as rules. What we can say: incomplete files, a missing return ticket and a weak sponsor document are real reasons for refusal, for every passport.

Papers to prepare

  1. Moroccan passport with at least 6 months left from entry day.
  2. Colour scan of the bio page, all corners visible.
  3. Photo to ICAO standard on a white background (photo rules).
  4. Return or onward booking.
  5. Health insurance valid in the UAE.
  6. With a sponsor: their Emirates ID, residence, salary proof, and a family record or marriage certificate showing the relationship.

Why Moroccan applications come back

  • The name in Latin letters on the booking does not match the passport spelling.
  • The photo has a grey background or a shadow.
  • A sponsor applies for a cousin with an income set for parents only.
  • The passport expires within 6 months of the arrival date.
  • An old overstay in the UAE was never cleared.

Processing time

GDRFA states 48 hours. ICP states 2 days. Emirates says about 2 to 4 working days. A sponsored visit visa must be used within 60 days of issue. Leave on time: each extra day costs AED 50, and the Dubai visa extension page shows how to stay longer legally.

How it works with us

You send the passport scan, your dates and the city you fly from, on WhatsApp or through the form here. A visa adviser checks whether the agency route, the airline route or a family sponsor makes more sense for your trip. You get one total price, confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay anything. Our processing partners submit the file, answer any request from GDRFA or ICP and send you the e-visa as soon as it is out. We are a private visa service, not a government office, and the authorities make the decision.

A refusal means the government fee stays with the authorities. Before you pay, the adviser writes down for you which part of the total, if any, you would get back in that case.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Do Moroccans need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists Morocco as visa required. You need the e-visa issued before you board, whether you fly from Casablanca, Marrakech or a European airport.

I live in Spain with a Moroccan passport. Can I get a visa on arrival?

No. A Spanish, French or other EU residence card does not open a visa on arrival for Moroccan citizens. The ICP residence-abroad visa covers seven other nationalities only, so apply for a tourist visa before you travel.

Can I get my Dubai visa through Emirates?

Yes, if you hold an Emirates return ticket. Emirates lists US$90 for a 30-day single entry visa and US$177 for 60 days, and says to apply at least 4 working days before arrival.

Is it true Moroccan women under a certain age are refused?

We found that claim only on expat forums. No GDRFA, ICP or MOFA page we checked sets an age or gender rule for Moroccan visitors. A complete file with a return ticket and insurance is what the authorities look at.

My brother lives in Dubai. What does his sponsorship cost?

On the GDRFA relative visit visa, a 30-day single entry visa is AED 200 plus VAT, with AED 40 medical insurance, a refundable AED 1,000 deposit and small deposit fees. As a second-degree relative he must meet the higher income tier.

How many days before my flight should I apply?

GDRFA states 48 hours for a complete file and Emirates says about 2 to 4 working days. Apply a week or more ahead so a request for a new photo or document does not push your flight.
