A passport from Sao Tome and Principe does not open the UAE border on its own. The foreign ministry's exemption list marks the country as visa required, so the visa has to exist before you board. We file it. The government charge for a 30-day single entry is AED 210, and 48 hours is the listed turnaround for a complete file.
Three ways in
- Tourism, nobody in the UAE. A licensed tourism company, hotel or airline applies for you. This is our usual file.
- A relative or friend who lives in the UAE. They sponsor your visit through ICP and must meet an income tier.
- A job. The employer applies for the work permit. A visit visa cannot replace it.

A sponsor's monthly pay must reach AED 4,000 for a parent, spouse or child, AED 8,000 for a sibling or grandparent and AED 15,000 for a friend, as ICP sets it.
