The Madagascar government runs its own eVisa site. It says the tourist eVisa is single entry for up to 60 days and is issued within 72 hours of a validated application. UK government advice also describes entry on arrival. Your passport and Ebola travel history decide which route you use.
The eVisa route
You apply online between one week and six months before departure. The official site asks for a valid passport, a debit or credit card, an email and a phone. Diplomats and staff of certain organisations are exempt from fees. Source: official Madagascar eVisa site, read .
The fee table on that page showed no amounts when we opened it. We do not quote a price. Look at the live form before you pay.
Arriving without an eVisa
UK FCDO advice, written for British citizens, says visitors can stay up to 15 days with a 10 euro administration fee on arrival and an onward or return ticket. For longer, a 30 or 60 day single entry tourist visa can be bought at the airport in US dollars, euros or ariary. Stays can be extended to 90 days in total. Rules differ by passport, so we compare your passport with the official site first. Source: GOV.UK Madagascar entry requirements, read .
Passport and health checks
- Passport expiry at least 6 months after arrival, and at least 2 blank pages
- Onward or return ticket
- Yellow fever certificate if you come from a transmission-risk country
- Ebola rule: if you have been in or transited through an affected country in the last 21 days, you may not be allowed in unless exempt. A health declaration form and screening apply.
- Children under 18 travelling without parents need written authorization
Most flights from Dubai connect through a third country. Your transit stops count for the Ebola question.
How it works with us
You send your passport copy, residence details and dates on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser checks the eVisa rule for your passport and sends one total price before anything is paid. The team files the eVisa, checks the approval against your passport, and sends it to you. We are a private visa service. Madagascar decides every application.
If the eVisa is refused, the government fee is not returned by Madagascar. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back.
