If you live in Abu Dhabi you apply for a Schengen visa at a VFS Global centre, either the joint centre in Abu Dhabi or the one in Dubai, depending on the country. The adult fee is EUR 90. File at least 15 days before travel and no more than 6 months ahead. The country you choose decides the rest.

What changes for Abu Dhabi residents

The Schengen rules are the same as in Dubai. The things that differ for Abu Dhabi are where you hand in the file and which mission takes it. The fee, insurance and stay limits are on the Schengen visa from Dubai page, so we do not repeat them here. Booking help is on Schengen appointment in Dubai.

The Abu Dhabi joint visa application centre is on Level B2 (Lower Ground), The Mall, World Trade Centre, Khalifa Bin Zayed The 1st Street (Airport Road). Denmark's foreign ministry lists it open 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with applications until 16:00.

Which country files where

Country Where UAE applicants file What the mission says
Netherlands VFS Abu Dhabi or Dubai Book yourself online; VFS service fee always applies
Belgium VFS Abu Dhabi (The Mall, WTC) or Dubai (Wafi Mall) Slot is free; submit 9:00 to 15:00
Denmark VFS Abu Dhabi joint centre Open 09:00 to 17:00, applications until 16:00
Germany VFS Global for the Consulate in Dubai The Dubai consulate handles the entire UAE
France Press reports a France centre at The Mall, Abu Dhabi Confirm on the France-Visas site, which blocked our checker

So the Dubai trip is not always avoidable. For Germany you do not travel to the consulate itself: you submit at the VFS centre, but the decision is taken in Dubai.

Fees

Fee Amount
Adult EUR 90
Child 6 to 11 EUR 45
Child under 6 Free
VFS service fee Always charged, amount set by VFS

What Dubai agencies charge

Dubai visa agencies publish about AED 150 to AED 1,200 for Schengen visa help (published prices of 5 Dubai agencies, checked ). The spread is wide because some quotes cover only the booking and some cover the full file. It is not our price.

Documents to bring

  • Passport with at least 2 blank pages (Belgium) and validity beyond the trip (Germany asks 3 months).
  • UAE residence visa and Emirates ID. Germany asks for residence valid 3 months beyond the visa expiry.
  • Medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000.
  • Biometric photos not older than 6 months.
  • Three months of bank statements, or a host's obligation or invitation letter.
  • Employment letter with approved leave dates.

Processing and fingerprints

The German mission says up to 15 days. Decisions can take longer, and the Schengen visa from Dubai page covers the 45-day maximum. Fingerprints are required at the appointment unless you are under 12 or gave them within the past 59 months for an earlier Schengen visa.

Common reasons files fail

  • Filing with a country where you will not spend the most nights.
  • Insurance that ends before the return date.
  • A residence permit too close to expiry.
  • Booking an appointment too late. Fewer than 15 days before travel is a problem at several missions.

How it works with us

Send your passport and residence visa copy on WhatsApp or through the form here. A visa adviser works out which country should receive the file and where it can be lodged, then gives you one total price before you pay. Our team prepares the form, checks the documents against that mission's list, books the Abu Dhabi or Dubai slot and briefs you. We are a private visa service, not VFS, an embassy or a consulate, and the mission decides.

The Schengen fee and the VFS service fee are not refunded after a refusal. Before you pay us, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our fee, if any, comes back.
