To track a UAE visa application, use the number from your submission on the tool of the emirate that holds it. Dubai applications go through the GDRFA status inquiry. Applications for Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates go through ICP. Official pages list 48 hours for most services once the file is complete. If the status does not move, check the number first.
Which tracker for which application
| Application sent to | Tracker | Number |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai (GDRFA) | Application tab, smart.gdrfad.gov.ae | Application number, transaction number, payment date |
| Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, UAQ, RAK, Fujairah (ICP) | Application tracking, smartservices.icp.gov.ae | Application number starting with 010 |

The stages an application goes through
The authorities do not publish a list of status labels, so these stages are our reading of how the process works, not official wording:
- Submitted. The file is in the system and the fee is paid. This is when the payment date is set.
- In review. The authority checks the passport, the photo and the sponsor or hotel data. Both authorities list 48 hours for the standard visit visas.
- Returned or on hold. Something is missing or wrong. The reported Amer call centre service exists to follow up returned transactions.
- Issued. An entry permit exists. You can download the e-visa and check the dates.
- Refused. The authority declined the file. See Dubai visa rejection reasons.
Treat the second and third stages as the ones where a long wait matters.
How long it should take
GDRFA lists 48 hours for its tourist visa services. ICP lists 2 days for the visit visa service and says most services take 48 hours after all requirements are met. These times assume a complete file. A missing document pushes the real date back. The cause behind most delays is covered on Dubai visa processing time.
What to do when it stalls
- Check the number. One wrong digit gives a false "not found".
- Check the authority. A Dubai number typed into ICP tracking will not work.
- Ask who filed it. An agent, hotel, airline or sponsor holds the account. They can see if documents were asked for.
- Look for a returned file. Fix the document that was asked for and send it again through the same channel.
- Use an official channel. GDRFA lists its website, the Dubai Now app and Amer centres. ICP lists its smart services, the UAEICP app and a call centre.
- Do not pay a second time to anyone who says they can push a file faster, unless the authority itself asks for a fee.
If your plans depend on the date, do not buy a non-refundable ticket until the e-visa is in your hands.
Keep these from the day you apply
- The application number, and the transaction number if the receipt shows one.
- The payment date and the payment receipt.
- The passport page you submitted, so you can match the name letter by letter.
- The name of the person or company that filed it, with the date.
- The first screenshot of the status, then one every time it changes.
With these five items, a call to the authority or to your agent takes two minutes instead of a long search. The GDRFA Application tab will not open without the first three.
Reading the result
Once a visa is issued, switch from the Application tab to the File tab, which asks for the first name in English, the file number, the nationality and the date of birth. The file view is where you confirm the expiry date. Our validity check page explains the three dates to read, and Dubai visa status check covers the tools in full.
Tracking inside your own account
ICP says you can follow a request from your personal account under My Applications. If a sponsor in the UAE filed the application, they will see it in their own login rather than yours, which is why a guest search sometimes shows nothing.
Where we fit
We are a private service. When you apply through us, our team files with GDRFA or ICP through our processing partners and passes you the number to track. The authority decides the result, and we cannot speed it up. Government fees are not refunded by the authority after a refusal, and the adviser tells you in writing before you pay what part of the total, if any, would come back.
