For a Vatican visit from the UAE, the visa question is an Italy question. Vatican City State is an enclave in the City of Rome, and the Holy See page we read lists no separate visa for it. If your passport needs a Schengen visa for Italy, we file it, book your slot and check the documents.

What the Holy See page says
The Holy See general information page, checked , says the state is an enclave in Rome, about 1,045 metres long and 850 metres wide. It says entry formalities are set by a regulation of 1932. It names no visa. We did not find an official page that states how a foreign visitor crosses from Rome, so we do not describe border checks.
Museums and basilica rules
The Vatican Museums visitor page gives these points:
- Entry to the Museums, the Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Basilica and the Gardens is for appropriately dressed visitors only. Sleeveless tops, low-cut clothing, shorts above the knee, miniskirts and hats are not allowed.
- Open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 20:00, last entry 18:00.
- On the last Sunday of each month: 9:00 to 14:00, last entry 12:30, free admission.
- Knives, scissors, tripods, video cameras and medium or large umbrellas go in the free cloakroom.
- No photographs in the Sistine Chapel. No flash elsewhere.

The UAE foreign ministry directory lists a Holy See Embassy in Abu Dhabi. It deals with Holy See matters. For an Italian visa, use the Italian visa centre. We publish no contact details.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy and travel dates. An adviser checks whether your passport needs an Italian visa, quotes one total and, if it does, files the application and books the slot. We are a private visa service and the Italian authorities decide.
Schengen fees are not refunded after a refusal. Your adviser writes down before you pay what part of our fee, if any, comes back.
