A Czech Republic visa for UAE residents is a Schengen visa filed at the VFS Global centres in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The EU fee is EUR 90 for adults. The decision takes 15 days, up to 45. If you want to work in Czechia, that is a long stay employee card and goes through the Czech Embassy in Abu Dhabi instead.
Where each type of file goes
The Czech Embassy in Abu Dhabi splits its work clearly.
| What you want | Where it is filed |
|---|---|
| Tourist, business or family visit up to 90 days | VFS Global, Dubai or Abu Dhabi |
| Long term visa or residence permit | Czech Embassy in Abu Dhabi, by appointment |
| Employee card (work above 3 months) | Czech Embassy in Abu Dhabi |

The embassy only takes Schengen files itself for family members of EU citizens, diplomatic passport holders, official delegations and urgent humanitarian cases. Everyone else goes through VFS.

Fees
The Schengen visa fee is set by the EU: EUR 90 for adults, EUR 45 for children aged 6 to 12 and free under 6. The visa centre adds a service fee in AED. We could not open the Czech VFS page, so we do not quote that figure. Ask for the current amount when you book.
We found no Dubai agency that publishes a price for a Czech visa, so no agency range is shown.
Documents
The embassy says UAE applicants follow a harmonised list of supporting documents. Prepare these before you book:
- Passport with validity beyond your stay and blank pages.
- UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
- Signed Schengen application form and photo.
- Travel insurance with at least EUR 30,000 medical cover.
- Flights and accommodation for every night.
- Bank statements and an employer letter.
The embassy does not copy the list on its page, so use the VFS Czech checklist for the exact rows.
Timing
The EU rule is a decision within 15 days, up to 45. You may file from six months before the trip to 15 days before it. For appointment tips, read Schengen visa appointment in Dubai. The embassy says it gives no information on application status while a long term file is in legal review, so do not chase it by e-mail.
Czech work route: the employee card
People search "Czech Republic work permit from Dubai". In Czech law the document is an employee card, a long term permit for stays above three months where the purpose is employment.
An archived embassy page lists these requirements:
- valid travel document and signed form;
- proof of accommodation and two photos;
- an employment contract with minimum wage and at least 15 hours a week;
- proof of professional qualifications;
- a criminal record extract, and a medical report on request;
- medical travel insurance before entry.
That page carries documents dated and may be out of date. It says employee cards are generally decided within 60 days and complex cases within 90. The current embassy page adds a rule that matters: non-citizens may apply in Abu Dhabi only if they have lived in the UAE for at least the past two years. Appointments run Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and fees are paid by card or cash in AED.
If you have not lived in the UAE for two years, you cannot file in Abu Dhabi on this route. Ask us before you spend money on a translation or a degree legalisation.
Common reasons for refusal
- Nights in Czechia that do not match the route.
- Hotel bookings with gaps.
- Funds or employer letters that do not support the trip.
- An employee card file sent to the wrong place.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy, Emirates ID and plans on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. An adviser checks whether you need a tourist file at VFS or a long stay file at the embassy, and gives one total price before you pay. We prepare the forms and the bookings, check the harmonised list and book your VFS slot. You attend for biometrics. For a work file, we check your papers and the two-year rule, and the embassy takes the filing. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. The Czech authorities decide.
The authorities do not refund fees after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back if the visa is refused.
