Liechtenstein passport holders do not need a visa before they fly to the UAE. The UAE ministry lists the Principality of Liechtenstein as visa free: a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 6 months, for up to 90 days in total. When you still need help
- A longer stay. ICP lists AED 100 for an extension application plus AED 500 for the extension, and a tourist visit can run to 120 days in total. Extend before the stay ends, as an overstay is AED 50 a day.
- A partner or child on another passport. Your free entry does not cover them. We check each passport and, where one is needed, file a visit visa before you fly.
- A relative in the UAE sponsoring a parent. That is a family visit visa, which needs the host's residence and income, not your passport.
- Work or residence. A job needs an employer's permit. A visit stay cannot be turned into work.
Consular help for a Liechtenstein passport
Liechtenstein does not run its own mission everywhere. Switzerland has looked after Liechtenstein's interests abroad since 1919, and the Swiss foreign ministry says citizens may use the Swiss representation where Liechtenstein has none. It lists diplomatic and consular protection and emergency passports.
The Swiss consulate general in Dubai says all consular services for Swiss nationals in the UAE come from the Swiss Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and does not mention Liechtenstein. Ask the embassy first if you lose your passport. We did not see Liechtenstein named in the readable text of the UAE foreign ministry's mission list.
