We file your visit visa, visa required

Last updated

A Mauritanian passport needs a Dubai visa before travel. UAE MOFA lists Mauritania as visa required, so there is no free visa on arrival. A licensed Dubai tourism company files a GDRFA tourist visa for AED 210 (30 days) or AED 315 (60 days), or a relative in the UAE sponsors a visit visa through ICP. We prepare the file and send you the e-visa.

What the UAE says about Mauritania

The MOFA visa exemption page puts the Islamic Republic of Mauritania under visa required, with entry only after a visa is issued. We read it on .

The UAE also says its embassies do not issue tourist visas. The UAE embassy in Nouakchott lists consular services on its MOFA page, but the page gives no visa procedure for visitors. Do not wait in a queue at the embassy for a holiday visa.

Costs for a Mauritanian visitor

Option Fee Stay
GDRFA tourist visa, single entry AED 210 30 days
GDRFA tourist visa, single entry AED 315 60 days
GDRFA tourist visa, multiple entry AED 315 30 days
ICP visit visa extension AED 100 application and AED 500 Up to 120 days in total

Source: GDRFA service pages and ICP service pages, checked . Fees include VAT. A relative's visit visa through ICP costs AED 100 to apply, AED 100 a month for a single entry and AED 100 for smart services, plus a refundable guarantee of AED 1,000.

Who sponsors you

  • A tourism company, hotel or airline. They file a GDRFA tourist visa. You need a return ticket and health insurance valid in the UAE.
  • A relative with UAE residence. ICP asks AED 4,000 a month from a parent, spouse or child, and AED 8,000 for a brother, sister or grandparent. Friends need AED 15,000.

What to gather in Nouakchott

  • Your passport, with at least 6 months before it expires on the day you land
  • A scan of the photo page with all four corners visible
  • A recent photo against a white wall
  • A booked flight out of the UAE
  • Medical cover that is accepted in the UAE
  • If a relative hosts you: their Emirates ID, their residence visa and something that proves the family link

From scan to e-visa

  1. Message us the scan, the photo and the dates you want.
  2. An adviser picks the visa type and quotes one total.
  3. The team submits to GDRFA or ICP and handles any question that comes back.
  4. The e-visa lands in your inbox. Keep a printed copy for the airport.
  5. Fly while it is valid and leave before your last permitted day.

ICP lists 2 days for a visit visa file. Apply a week before your flight.

Limits of a visit visa

It does not allow work. A job means an employer, a work permit and a residence visa, filed inside the UAE. Overstay is fined at AED 50 per day, so ask for an extension before the visa ends. See our extension guide and the overstay fine page.

We did not find a Mauritanian government notice on travel to the UAE that we could open and read, so we do not state one. Check with your own foreign ministry before you travel.

How it works with us

Send us the passport copy and your dates through WhatsApp or the form on this page. An adviser decides whether a tourist visa or a family visit visa suits you and gives a single price before you pay anything. Our team then files the request, chases it and forwards the e-visa. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. GDRFA and ICP, not us, decide each application.

Refused files lose the government fee, because the authorities keep it. Your adviser will write down, before payment, which part of our total comes back in that case, if any.

Questions people ask

Do Mauritanians need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs exemption list shows the Islamic Republic of Mauritania as visa required. The visa must be issued before you board, so there is no free visa on arrival for a Mauritanian passport.

How much is a Dubai visit visa for a Mauritanian passport?

GDRFA lists AED 210 for a 30-day single entry tourist visa and AED 315 for 60 days, VAT included. A relative's ICP visit visa has different fees: AED 100 to apply, AED 100 a month and AED 100 for smart services. Agencies add their own service charge.

Can a Mauritanian apply for a UAE visa at the UAE embassy in Nouakchott?

Not for a holiday. The UAE government says its embassies do not issue tourist visas, and the Nouakchott embassy page shows no visa procedure. Filing is online, through a licensed Dubai company or a relative who lives in the UAE.

Can my brother in Dubai sponsor my visit from Nouakchott?

Yes, if he holds UAE residence. ICP asks for a monthly income of AED 8,000 to sponsor a brother or sister and a refundable guarantee of AED 1,000 for a single entry visa. A parent, spouse or child is sponsored from AED 4,000.

How long can a Mauritanian stay in Dubai on a visit visa?

The visa is issued for 30 or 60 days. A tourist stay can be extended inside the UAE for AED 100 plus AED 500, to a total of 120 days. After that, the overstay fine is AED 50 per day.

Is a visit visa enough to work in Dubai as a Mauritanian?

No. A visit visa does not allow work. A job in the UAE needs an employer, a work permit and a residence visa, filed from inside the UAE after you enter.
