Mexicans do not need a visa for Dubai. The UAE foreign ministry lists Mexico as visa free, and the rule is a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 6 months, with up to 180 days of stay in total. That is one of the longest free stays the UAE gives. We help when you want to stay longer, move, or travel with someone on another passport.

What you receive at the airport

The visit visa is issued at the passport desk. It costs nothing and nothing is filed in advance. The entry rule published by Emirates describes it as multiple entry, valid for 6 months from issue, with 180 days allowed in total.

Compare that with the 90 days that most other visa free passports get, such as Norway and Singapore. The Mexican rule is more generous, but it is still a visit. You cannot take a job on it, and the days from every entry count against the same total.

Fees at a glance

Item Fee Authority
Visit visa on arrival, up to 180 days Free Entry desk
Extension in Dubai AED 600 plus 5% VAT GDRFA
Extension in the other emirates AED 100 application plus AED 500 ICP
Overstay fine AED 50 a day From the day after the stay ends

Source: GDRFA and ICP service pages, checked . Both pages state a limit of 120 days in total for tourist visits. A Mexican entry already allows 180, so we confirm the longest extension allowed on your entry before we file.

Where we help

  • A partner or friend with another passport. Their passport sets their entry rule. We confirm it and file a tourist visa before the flight if one is needed.
  • A long stay. If your plans pass 180 days, or you want to start working, you need a different permit. See our guides to the UAE residence visa and the work visa in Dubai.
  • A stay that is running out. We file the extension while there is time. The Dubai visa extension guide has the steps.
  • A missed date. If the stay has ended, our overstay fine page explains how the AED 50 daily fine adds up.

What to have in your hand at the desk

  • Your Mexican passport, with validity beyond the last day you plan to stay
  • A ticket out of the UAE
  • The name and address of the hotel or the person you stay with
  • Medical cover that works in the UAE
  • A separate passport for each child, plus a paper that shows the family link

Mexican consular help in the UAE

The Embassy of Mexico in the UAE says every consular service is by appointment only, for visas and for other procedures. The site lists registration of Mexicans, protection of Mexicans, consular fees and the Mexican passport. We read it on , and the page shows a last update dated . Book through the embassy's own site, and expect it to be slower than a walk-in.

On the other side, the UAE embassy in Mexico City lists visa services on the foreign ministry site, with attestation and a 24 hour government line. For Mexican passport holders, that is useful for documents, not for entry.

Mexico's foreign ministry also keeps a travel guide for the UAE and a registry for Mexicans abroad. The guide would not load for us, so check it before you travel.

Going the other way

Living in the UAE and heading to Mexico? Many passports need a visa for Mexico, and the rule depends on the passport and on any US, Canadian or Schengen visa you hold. See Mexico visa from Dubai.

How it works with us

Write to us on WhatsApp, or fill in the form here, with a photo of your passport page and the dates you have in mind. An adviser reads the entry rule for your passport and says if a filing is worth doing. When it is, you see a single total first. Once you agree, the team submits the request and chases it. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, so the decision stays with GDRFA or ICP.

A refused file means the government fees are gone. Before you pay, your adviser writes down which part of our price, if any, would be returned.

Questions people ask

Do Mexicans need a visa for Dubai?

No. The UAE foreign ministry lists Mexico as visa free. You receive a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 6 months, with up to 180 days of stay in total. Bring a return ticket and a passport with enough validity.

How many days can a Mexican stay in the UAE?

Up to 180 days in total on the visa on arrival, as published by Emirates, which is longer than the 90 days many other visa free passports get. Count the days from every entry, since the limit covers the total.

Can Mexicans extend their Dubai visit beyond 180 days?

The 180 days is already the long stay. ICP lists extensions for tourist visits up to 120 days in total, so the cap on an extension for a visa on arrival should be checked with us first. Do not wait for the last day.

Is there a Mexican embassy in the UAE?

Yes. The Embassy of Mexico in the UAE provides consular services by appointment only. Its page lists registration of Mexicans, protection of Mexicans, consular fees and the Mexican passport. Its page shows a last update in January.

My boyfriend has a different passport. Does he need a UAE visa?

Possibly. Your Mexican passport only covers you. We check the rule for his passport and, if a visa is needed, we file it before the flight so he can travel with you.

Can Mexicans work in Dubai on a visit visa?

No. A visit visa is for visits and meetings. A job needs a work permit and residence arranged by the employer. We explain the routes for an employee, a business owner and a freelancer, and the family visas after.

Is there a UAE embassy in Mexico City for visas?

Yes. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists an embassy in Mexico City with visa services and attestation. Because Mexican passports are visa free for the UAE, most visitors only need it for documents.
