Moldova says its citizens can enter the UAE without a visa for up to 90 days, but the UAE foreign ministry list we read still showed Moldova as visa required. Because the two official sources differ, we check your passport against the airline before you fly. If a visa is still needed, a licensed Dubai company files it.
Two official sources, two answers
The Embassy of Moldova in the UAE published an announcement: starting 4 September, Moldovan citizens can travel to the United Arab Emirates without a visa for up to 90 days. The Moldovan foreign ministry says a memorandum was signed on 5 August, covering ordinary, official and diplomatic passports, for up to 90 calendar days in any 180. It adds that Moldovans used to pay about 80 euros per visa.
The UAE foreign ministry exemption page, read on , still listed the Republic of Moldova as visa required. We do not know which page is out of date. So the safe plan is simple: ask your airline to confirm at check-in what it will accept for a Moldovan passport, and keep a printout of the embassy notice in your bag.

Moldova's advice for citizens in the UAE
- Embassy. It sits in Abu Dhabi and is also accredited to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. A March update says it gave consular help to citizens hit by air transport disruption.
- 6 March update. Citizens were told to avoid non-essential travel, follow the instructions of local authorities and stay in touch with Moldovan missions.
