Dubai visa for New Zealanders

New Zealanders enter Dubai without a visa, but a passport with an X, a missing name or an XX date is refused. We check yours first, then file extensions and family visas.

We check your passport and file extensions; NZ is visa-free

Last updated

New Zealanders need no visa to visit Dubai. The UAE foreign ministry lists New Zealand as visa free, with a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 6 months and up to 90 days in total. The risk is the passport itself. We check it first, then file extensions, visas for family on other passports, and residence or work paperwork.

Passport details that stop you at the border

SafeTravel, the New Zealand government's travel site, updated its UAE page on . It lists the points that catch people out:

  • A passport showing X in the gender field cannot enter or transit the UAE.
  • The passport must show a first and a last name and a numeric date of birth. An XX in the date field is refused.
  • The passport must be valid for more than six months before you travel.
  • Authorities can deny entry to people with full facial tattoos, particularly above the eyebrows.

Look at every passport in the family, children's too. No visa repairs a passport fault; only a new passport does. Find out before the flights are booked.

When a visit is not enough

  • A partner or friend on another passport: they may need a visit visa before they fly. Some listed nationalities who hold a New Zealand residence permit can use an ICP 60-day visa. It costs AED 350 in all, is single entry and cannot be extended. We check the passport and the permit.
  • Family who will live with you: a resident can sponsor a spouse and children. Read the family visa guide.
  • A job in the UAE: the employer files the permit, and the work visa guide shows the chain.

Looking for a New Zealand visa from Dubai?

That is the reverse case, for UAE residents who want to visit New Zealand, including Filipinos, Indians and others living in Dubai. A UAE residence does not change the New Zealand rule. See New Zealand visa from Dubai.

How it works with us

Share a photo of your passport page and your travel dates by WhatsApp or the form here. An adviser runs the passport checks listed above and says what you need, if anything. A single total price comes before any payment. The team then files and follows the request. We are a private visa service. ICP or GDRFA decides.

Should the authority refuse, it keeps its fee. Your adviser states in writing, before you pay, what portion of our total would be returned, if any.
