Visa-free 90 days; we check, extend and file for family

Last updated

Serbians do not need a visa for Dubai. The UAE foreign ministry lists Serbia as visa free: a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid six months, up to 90 days in total. Serbia's own foreign ministry says the same. What stops people at the counter is usually the passport, so we check that first, then help with extensions and visas for family on other passports.

What the Serbian foreign ministry says

The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a UAE page for citizens, and we read it on . Its entry points are short:

  • No visa for stays of up to 90 days on a Serbian national passport. Diplomatic and official passports also need none.
  • A visa is required for the holder of an emergency travel document in transit.
  • The passport must be valid for at least six months for tourism.
  • Cash over 100,000 dirhams brought in or taken out must be declared to customs.
  • Staying past the 90-day limit leads to fines.
  • There is no social security agreement between Serbia and the UAE, so check your health cover.

Security advice: read the current page

On the same ministry issued a statement advising against all travel, until further notice, to the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran and Israel, and put the level at red. A notice of pointed Serbians in the UAE to their embassy in Abu Dhabi. The UAE page we read in October tells citizens to stay calm, follow the local authorities and keep in touch with their airline, and it mentions safe air corridors with limited flights. We cannot tell you the level today. Read the Serbian page before you book, and ask the airline about your flight.

Source: MOFA, ICP and GDRFA pages, checked . ICP lists a tourist stay of up to 120 days in total. The free entry does not allow work, paid or unpaid.

Serbian passport checks before you fly

  1. Count six full months from your arrival date to the passport expiry date.
  2. Check that the passport is a regular one. An emergency document is a problem, as the Serbian ministry's line on transit shows.
  3. Keep a return ticket and a booking for the first nights where you can reach them.
  4. Check any medicine you carry against UAE rules before you pack it.
  5. Declare cash above 100,000 dirhams.

Staying longer than 90 days

The free entry ends at 90 days. An extension is filed with ICP for AED 100 plus AED 500, and a tourist stay is capped at 120 days in total. For longer, the real routes are a residence visa through an employer or a company, or a family residence visa. Start with our guides on the Dubai visa extension and work visa in Dubai. Do not wait for the last week, because a fine of AED 50 a day starts the day after the permit ends. See the UAE overstay fine guide.

Family who need a visa

A Serbian citizen can travel visa-free while a partner or parent on another passport cannot. A relative with UAE residence can sponsor a visit visa through ICP: AED 100 application, AED 100 a month and AED 100 smart services, plus a refundable guarantee. Otherwise a Dubai tourism company can file a tourist visa. Our family visit visa page has the sponsor salary levels.

The other direction: Serbia from Dubai

A lot of searches here are about going to Serbia from the UAE, for example "Serbia visa for Indian in UAE". That is a different rule, and it depends on your passport. On the Serbian ministry pages we read, Indian passport holders need a visa, and a UAE residence permit alone does not give a visa-free stay. Dubai agencies publish about AED 195 to AED 480 for a Serbia visa (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). Applications go to the Serbian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, by appointment. Everything is on our Serbia visa for UAE residents page.

How it works with us

Send your passport page and travel dates on WhatsApp, or use the form on this page. A visa adviser confirms the entry rule for your passport and tells you if anything could stop you at the counter. If you want an extension or a visa for a relative, you get one total price before you pay. The team prepares the file, submits it and follows it up. We are a private visa service. The UAE authorities decide every application.

If an application is refused, the authority keeps its fees. Before you pay, the adviser tells you in writing what part of our total would come back, if any.
