We check which Serbia rule fits your passport, then prepare the visa file and the embassy appointment if you need one. Your UAE residence alone does not waive the visa, but a valid Schengen, UK or US visa does.

Serbia has no visa on arrival for UAE residents, and a UAE residence permit does not waive the visa. What waives it is a valid Schengen, UK, EU member state or US visa, or a residence permit from a Schengen, EU or US country. With one of those, you can enter and stay up to 90 days in a six-month period. Without one, a visa-required passport needs a visa before you fly.

What the Serbian ministry says

Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs explains the waiver on its visa requirements page. A Government decision from lets holders of any foreign national passport enter without a visa if they have a valid Schengen, UK or EU member state visa, or a US visa, or a residence permit in the Schengen area, the EU or the United States. The stay is 90 days in a six-month period and only while that visa or permit is valid.

Two details help in real life. You may travel with two passports, for example an expired one that carries the valid visa and a new one without it. And if your residence permit is a separate card, not a sticker, you must show your valid passport with it at the border.

Which passports need a visa

The ministry's country pages show "Visas required" for ordinary passports of India, the Philippines, Egypt, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Kenya. For the United Arab Emirates itself, ordinary passport holders can visit up to 90 days in six months without a visa, under a protocol both countries signed.

So the common cases from Dubai look like this:

  • Indian with a Schengen or UK visa. No Serbian visa while that visa is valid.
  • Filipino with a UAE residence permit only. The UAE permit does not help. You need a Serbian visa.
  • Egyptian with a US visa. The US visa waives the Serbian visa for the 90 days.
  • Emirati citizen. No visa for 90 days.

What Dubai agencies charge

Dubai agencies publish about AED 195 to AED 480 for a Serbia visa (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). One of them shows a processing time of 45 to 90 days, the other 3 to 5 business days, so compare what each quote includes before you decide.

How to apply from the UAE

The Embassy of Serbia in Abu Dhabi runs a consular department on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 09:00 to 14:00. An appointment on the eConsulate platform is mandatory before you arrive. If no slots are free, the embassy says appointments for the next month open on the morning of the last working day of the current month.

You can also apply online through the Serbian portal for foreigners, welcometoserbia.gov.rs, with an account on the national e-identification portal. Since Serbia issues a Digital Travel Authorization for passports of countries enabled on that portal. If yours is not enabled, you get a visa sticker.

Documents for a Serbia visa

  • Completed application form.
  • Passport valid at least 90 days after you leave Serbia, with two blank pages, issued in the last 10 years.
  • One photo, 3.5 by 4.5 cm.
  • Proof of purpose. For a private visit, an invitation letter certified by a Serbian authority. For business, a letter from the Serbian company. For tourism, proof of payment for the trip from a travel agency.
  • Valid travel medical insurance.
  • Proof of funds, accommodation and a way to return home.

Missions may ask for more, and incomplete applications are not accepted.

Where applications fail

  • Passport with one blank page or too little validity left.
  • A tourist trip without a paid travel agency voucher.
  • A UAE residence permit presented as if it were a Schengen or US one.
  • Booking tickets before the visa decision.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy and any visa or residence permit from the Schengen area, the UK or the US on WhatsApp, or use the form on this page. A visa adviser checks whether you are waived or need a visa, then quotes one total price before you pay. If you need the visa, the team builds the file, watches the eConsulate slots for Abu Dhabi and follows the case until your passport or authorization comes back. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. Serbia decides every application.

Serbia does not refund its visa fee after a refusal. Before you pay us, the adviser tells you in writing which part of our total, if any, comes back in that case.

Questions people ask

Is there a Serbia visa on arrival for UAE residents?

No. The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists no visa on arrival. If your passport needs a visa and you have no waiver, you must hold a visa or a Digital Travel Authorization before you board. Check your passport first, because UAE residence is not a waiver.

Can UAE residents visit Serbia without a visa?

Only if the passport is visa-free or you hold a valid Schengen, UK, EU member state or US visa, or a residence permit in a Schengen, EU or US country. The Serbian rule gives 90 days in a six-month period, within the validity of that visa or permit.

Do Indian passport holders in the UAE need a Serbia visa?

Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs shows 'Visas required' for ordinary Indian passports. An Indian living in the UAE can still enter without a visa if he or she holds a valid Schengen, UK or US visa or a Schengen or US residence permit.

Where do I apply for a Serbia visa in the UAE?

The Embassy of Serbia in Abu Dhabi takes visa applications. Its consular department sits on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and an eConsulate appointment is mandatory first. You can also apply online on the welcometoserbia.gov.rs portal.

How do I get a Serbia embassy appointment in Abu Dhabi?

Book through the eConsulate platform. If no slots are free, the embassy says next month's appointments open on the morning of the last working day of the current month. Check that morning and have your documents ready to book at once.

What is a Serbia Digital Travel Authorization?

It is an electronic approval for entry, stay or transit that Serbia has issued since April for passports of countries enabled on its portal. If your country is not enabled, you get a visa sticker in the passport instead.

How long can I stay in Serbia on a short stay visa?

A visa C allows up to 90 days within any 180 days from first entry, for tourism, business or other travel. Stays of 90 to 180 days need a visa D, for work, study or family reunification.
