Dubai visa for Singaporeans

A Singapore passport enters the UAE without a visa in advance. We check your entry, file an extension if your plans run long, and arrange visas for family on other passports.

Singaporeans do not need a visa to enter Dubai. The UAE foreign ministry lists Singapore as visa free, and the rule is a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival that is valid for 6 months and allows up to 90 days in total. What takes work is everything around the entry: a longer stay, relatives on other passports, a move for a job.

The rule in plain terms

You walk to the passport desk, the officer issues the visit visa and you pay nothing. The same rule is used by the airlines when they check your papers at check-in, so a Singapore passport is accepted at the gate without anything printed.

  • Stay allowed: 90 days in total.
  • Validity of the visa: 6 months from issue, multiple entry.
  • Cost at entry: none.
  • Purpose: visits, meetings, family trips. It is not a work permit.

A tourist stay can be extended, so a trip that grows is fixable as long as you act before the last day.

Fees you may meet

Item Fee Authority
Visit visa on arrival Free Entry desk
Extension in Dubai AED 600 plus 5% VAT GDRFA
Extension in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or the northern emirates AED 100 application plus AED 500 ICP
Overstay fine AED 50 a day From the day after the stay ends

Where we come in

Singaporeans we expect to help are usually one of these:

  • Parents and in-laws visiting. A relative on a passport that needs a visa has to have it issued before they board. You can sponsor if you hold residence, or we file a tourist visa through a licensed Dubai company.
  • A domestic helper travelling with the family. The helper's own passport decides the entry rule.
  • Someone who has moved for work. The employer files the work permit. We help with the family side and the residence paperwork.
  • A stay that has gone past three months. We file the extension while there is still time.

If you are moving, our pages on the UAE residence visa and the work visa in Dubai lay out what comes after the first entry.

Papers to bring

  1. Singapore passport valid for the stay
  2. A return or onward ticket
  3. A hotel booking or host address
  4. Health insurance valid in the UAE
  5. For family on other passports, their approved visa copy

Your own mission in the UAE

Singapore has an embassy in Abu Dhabi and a Consulate-General in Dubai. The consulate lists passport applications and renewals, lost passport reports, address changes, citizenship applications, registration, notarial services and a Certificate of Clearance. Its appointment and notarisation hours are in the morning, Monday to Thursday. The embassy handles emergencies and legalisation of documents.

Both are for Singapore citizens. They do not issue UAE visas, and the embassy says it does not process Singapore visas either.

The government travel advice

The Singapore foreign ministry's UAE travel page, read on , carries advice dated : because of the security situation in the Middle East, Singaporeans are advised to defer all travel to the region. It asks anyone travelling or living in the UAE to take precautions, check flight schedules with the airline and buy travel insurance. The page also urges Singaporeans to sign up on eRegister so the ministry can reach them. The footer shows the page was last updated on .

Advice changes. Read the live page before you fly.

Going the other way

Singaporeans who live in the UAE and want to visit Singapore need no visa for their own passport, but friends and staff on other passports often do. See the page for Singapore visa for UAE residents.

How it works with us

Message us on WhatsApp or use the form on this page with your passport page and plans. A visa adviser says whether anything needs filing at all. If it does, you get one total price first. The team then files the request and follows it until the new stay or permit is issued. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, and GDRFA and ICP decide each case.

If a file is refused, the authorities keep their fees. Your adviser puts in writing, before you pay, what part of our price would come back.

Questions people ask

Do Singaporeans need a visa to visit Dubai?

No. The UAE foreign ministry lists Singapore as visa free. You get a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid for 6 months, with up to 90 days of stay in total. Carry a return ticket and a passport that suits the trip.

Can a Singaporean extend a Dubai stay past 90 days?

Yes, before the stay ends. In Dubai, GDRFA lists AED 600 plus 5% VAT for an extension and caps tourist stays at 120 days in total. Outside Dubai, ICP lists AED 100 as the application fee and AED 500 for the extension.

Does a Singapore passport let my domestic helper or friend skip the UAE visa?

No. Each traveller is judged on their own passport. If your friend or helper holds a passport that needs a UAE visa, the visa must be issued before they fly, and a Singapore passport next to theirs changes nothing.

Where do Singaporeans renew a passport in Dubai?

The Singapore Consulate-General in Dubai lists passport applications and renewals among its services, with appointment hours in the morning from Monday to Thursday. The Embassy in Abu Dhabi handles emergencies and document legalisation.

What is the Singapore government's travel advice for the UAE?

The Singapore foreign ministry's UAE page, dated 1 March, advises Singaporeans to defer all travel to the Middle East because of the security situation. It asks residents to take precautions and register on eRegister. Read the live page before you book.

Can I turn a Dubai visit into a job as a Singaporean?

Not on a visit visa. Work needs an employer sponsored permit and a residence visa, filed before you start. We explain the route for an employee, a business owner or a freelancer, and the family visas that follow.

Does the Singapore embassy in Abu Dhabi process UAE visas?

No. A UAE visa is issued by UAE authorities. The Singapore embassy in Abu Dhabi says it does not process Singapore visa applications either, and refers visa seekers to an authorised agent or the SAVE online system.
