Slovenians do not need a visa to enter the UAE. The foreign ministry in Ljubljana says so, and the UAE lists Slovenia as visa free: a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival, valid 6 months, for up to 90 days in total. Your passport must have at least 6 months left on the day you land.
The travel notice to read first
The Slovenian foreign ministry's UAE page was last updated on . It shows the orange level and recommends reconsidering non-essential travel, citing ongoing tensions in the Middle East. It suggests insurance that covers medical evacuation and a hospital stay, and registration in the eLastovka application so consular staff can reach you.
The same page lists local laws that catch visitors out: at least 4 years in prison for drug possession, a ban on alcohol in public places, and Sharjah as a dry emirate. These are the ministry's words, and the page can change.
If 90 days is not enough
| Step | Cost | Where it is set |
|---|---|---|
| Landing on a Slovenian passport | Free | UAE foreign ministry list |
| Applying to extend | AED 100 | ICP |
| The extension itself | AED 500 | ICP |
| Each day over the limit | AED 50 | GDRFA fine list |
Read from the ICP and GDRFA pages on . Extend before the 90 days run out. The Dubai visa extension guide has the filing steps. A job or a residence permit is a separate route, set out in UAE residence visa.
The Slovenian embassy in the UAE
The embassy is in Abu Dhabi and also covers Slovenians in neighbouring Gulf states. Its page says consular services need an advance appointment, requested by e-mail to the consular section. Hours are Monday to Thursday 10:00 to 12:30 and 15:00 to 16:00, and Friday 10:00 to 12:00. No Dubai office is listed.
The embassy's visa page gives the short-stay visa fee for foreign visitors to Slovenia as EUR 90 for people over 12 and EUR 45 for children 6 to 12, paid in AED by cash or card. Processing is free of charge for family members of EU citizens. If your relatives in Dubai want to visit you in Slovenia, see Slovenia visa from Dubai.
How it works with us
Write to us with a picture of your passport and the day you landed. Our adviser works out how many days you have left and picks the route: an extension, a visit visa for a relative, or a residence file. The price comes as one number, and nothing moves until you say yes. Then our team files and follows the request to the end. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, so the decision stays with ICP or GDRFA.
When the authority says no, its fee is gone. Our adviser puts in writing, before you pay, whether any of our own charge would return in that case.
