South Sudanese citizens need a Dubai visa before they fly. The UAE foreign ministry lists South Sudan as visa required. We file the application, check the passport and papers first, and send you the e-visa. GDRFA charges AED 210 for a 30-day single entry tourist visa, with 48 hours listed for a complete file.
A visa exemption deal that is not in force
On , Radio Tamazuj reported that South Sudan's justice minister had tabled four agreements with the UAE in parliament. One was a memorandum on visa exemption first signed in . It names South Sudanese diplomatic, official, business and ordinary passports, and bars visas for passports with under 6 months left. The papers went to committees for review, so they were not yet ratified.
Until the UAE list shows South Sudan as visa free, plan on a visa. We will update this page when the list changes.
Cost of the visa

If a relative lives in the UAE, they can sponsor you through ICP. Their pay must reach AED 4,000 a month for a parent, spouse or child, AED 8,000 for a sibling, or AED 15,000 for a friend. A single entry visa also needs a guarantee of AED 1,000, which is refunded.
What to have ready
- A passport valid for 6 months after your landing day
- A colour scan of the photo page and a white background photo
- A ticket out of the UAE
- Health insurance that works in the UAE
- For a family visit: the host's Emirates ID, residence visa, salary certificate and a paper proving the relationship
Consular help
We could not confirm a South Sudan embassy in the UAE. On The National wrote that South Sudanese residents had no embassy and had to travel to Juba to renew passports. That article is old, so ask the foreign ministry in Juba where to get consular help today. Renew early, since many files fail on passport validity.
How it works with us
Contact us on WhatsApp or through the form and attach your passport copy. An adviser reads it, says which route suits you, tourist or sponsored, and quotes a single price. We file nothing before you agree. Our team then fills in the application, sends it in and deals with questions from the authority. The e-visa lands in your inbox. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. GDRFA and ICP make the decision.
If they refuse, they keep their fee. The adviser tells you in writing, ahead of payment, whether we would return any of our charge.
