Spaniards do not need a visa for Dubai. Spain's foreign ministry confirms the exemption, and the UAE lists Spain as visa free with a free multiple entry visit visa on arrival. The ministry caps the stay at 90 days within any 180 days. We step in when you want longer, or when someone travelling with you needs a visa.
What Spain's foreign ministry tells travellers
Spain's travel advice for the United Arab Emirates, updated , says three things that matter for entry:
- Ordinary and diplomatic passports are exempt from the visa.
- The passport needs a minimum of six months of validity.
- The maximum stay is 90 days within any 180 day period, continuous or not, with extensions available for a fee through the UAE federal identity and border authority.
The UAE side agrees on the 90 days. Its list says a free multiple entry visa on arrival, valid for 6 months, up to 90 days in total. If you cross into Oman and back, those days still count. See the visa on arrival guide for how the stamp works.
Spain's warning about local law
The same advice states that Spanish nationality never prevents UAE law from applying. It lists detention, imprisonment, deportation and exit bans as possible results of breaking the law. An exit ban can stop you leaving the country, so settle any fine or dispute before your flight. An unpaid overstay is the most common case, at AED 50 for each day. Read the overstay fine guide if you have run past your date.
Costs after the free days
| Item | Official fee |
|---|---|
| Entry on a Spanish passport | Free |
| Extension application | AED 100 |
| Each extension | AED 500 |
| Overstay fine | AED 50 per day |

Where Spanish services are in the UAE
The Embassy of Spain is in Abu Dhabi. Its contact page lists a visa section, legalisations and translations, a section for Spanish citizens and a notary service. For Dubai it names only an Economic and Commercial Office, not a consulate. If you live in Dubai and need a passport or a power of attorney, plan a trip to Abu Dhabi and check what the embassy asks for first.
Travelling with a non-Spanish family
Most questions come from mixed families. The free visa belongs to the Spanish passport alone. A spouse, parent or child on another passport follows their own rule, whether that is free entry, a short ICP visa linked to a residence permit abroad, or a tourist visa filed before the flight. We check each passport and file the visa for the ones that need it. For fees by type, see the 30-day Dubai visa.
Heading the other way?
People who search "Spain visa Dubai" are mostly UAE residents who want to visit Spain. That is a Schengen file with its own centre and fee. Go to Spain visa from Dubai. It does not apply to Spanish passport holders.
Papers you may need
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- Entry stamp or permit showing your arrival date, for an extension
- Photo on a white background
- Details of the sponsor if relatives in the UAE host you
How it works with us
Message us on WhatsApp or use the form on this page with your passport page and dates. An adviser tells you whether you need anything at all, an extension or a visa for a relative. You see one total price before you pay. The team prepares and files the request and follows it until you have the result. We are a private visa service. ICP or GDRFA makes the decision, not us.
If a request is refused, the authorities keep their fee. Before you pay, the adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back in that case.
