A UAE residence permit does not decide your Indonesia entry, your passport does. The usual route is a 30-day visa on arrival for IDR 500,000, or an online visa filed before you fly. You also complete the free All Indonesia arrival card, and in Bali you pay a IDR 150,000 tourist levy. We check your passport and file what it needs.
What the official advice says
Indonesia's own immigration site did not open from our server, so for the visa rules we read UK government travel advice, which is written for British passports. Treat the numbers below as the standard tourist route, then let us confirm yours.
- 30-day visa on arrival. Single entry, IDR 500,000, payable by cash or card. It covers tourism, visiting family and friends, some business meetings and buying goods.
- Passport. Valid for at least six months from arrival, with two blank pages.
- Onward ticket. You need proof of your onward or return trip.
- Online visas. You can apply before you travel. Options include multiple-entry and 60-day visas, and the advice is to apply at least one week ahead.
The same advice warns that a visa approved after you land is not valid. If the online one is not ready by flight day, you may only get the 30-day visa on arrival.
Three costs on a Bali trip
| Item | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Visa on arrival | IDR 500,000 | 30 days, single entry |
| Bali tourist levy | IDR 150,000 | Per person, separate from the visa |
| All Indonesia arrival card | Free | Within 72 hours before arrival |
Sources: UK government foreign travel advice for Indonesia, and the Embassy of Denmark in Indonesia on the Bali levy (item dated ), checked . Amounts are in rupiah because the officials publish them that way. Check the Bali government site for the current levy before you fly.
The levy is paid online before you go or at designated counters at Bali's airport and seaport, in cashless form.
What Dubai agencies charge
Dubai visa agencies publish about AED 150 to AED 252.50 for an Indonesia visa (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). One agency shows a lower price for Indian passports and a higher one for other nationalities, so the figure moves with your passport. Compare what is included, because the rupiah fee at the airport is a different thing from an agency's service fee.
Passports and what we could and could not confirm
- British passports: visa on arrival, as above.
- Filipino passports: ASEAN citizens are reported to enter visa-free for up to 30 days, not extendable. We could not read Indonesia's page, so we mark that as unconfirmed. Ask us before you fly.
- Indian and other Dubai passports: the visa on arrival and online routes exist, but we have not confirmed the eligibility list. We check it when you send your passport copy.
If an agent says your passport is eligible, ask them to show the source page. That one question avoids most surprises.
Stay, extension and overstay
The 30-day visa can be extended once, for another 30 days, at any immigration office in Indonesia. If you applied online, you can extend on the immigration website. Extend inside the first 30 days. Overstaying costs 1 million rupiah a day, and the UK advice adds that it can lead to detention, deportation at your own cost and a re-entry ban.
Staying with a host or in private accommodation? The same advice says you must register your presence with the local police.
Avoid visa scams
UK government advice says visa scams are increasing in Indonesia. Fake agents take payment, then fail to deliver or supply the wrong visa, and some travellers were deported after paying a large fee. It tells people to use only the official immigration website to get or extend a visa. We file through the official site and show you the result.
Why files go wrong
- Passport valid for under six months, or without two blank pages.
- No onward ticket when the officer asks.
- Applying online only a day or two before flying.
- Using a visa meant for tourism to work, volunteer or create paid content. The advice says the visa on arrival is not suitable for those.
- Missing the arrival card, or paying a lookalike site for it.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy and travel dates on WhatsApp or through the form here. An adviser works out which entry your passport gets and says so plainly, even when that means you need nothing from us. If a visa is needed, we file it online, check every detail against the passport, set up the arrival card and remind you of the Bali levy. One total price in writing comes before any payment. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, and Indonesian immigration decides.
Indonesian visa fees are not refunded after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser puts in writing which part of our price, if any, would be returned.
