UAE residents need a Mauritania e-visa before they fly. Mauritania stopped issuing visas on arrival on , and the fee is paid in cash in euros or US dollars when you land. We file the e-visa from Dubai, check your passport and photo, and tell you exactly what to print and carry.
What changed
The UK Foreign Office entry requirements for Mauritania, read on , say that since it is not possible to obtain a visa on arrival. Travellers apply online for an e-visa through the Mauritanian National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles, then print the approval and bring it.
This is advice written for British travellers. It does not name UAE residents, and we found no rule that gives them a different route. We treat the e-visa as the rule for every passport until an adviser checks yours.
What the rules say
| Item | Rule | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Visa | E-visa online before travel | UK Foreign Office |
| Fee payment | Exact cash in euros or US dollars on arrival | UK Foreign Office |
| Passport | Expiry at least 6 months after arrival | UK Foreign Office |
| Health | Yellow fever proof if arriving from a risk country | UK Foreign Office |
We could not open the agency site, so we do not quote a fee in this table. Ask us for the amount before you pay.
Paperwork to prepare
- Passport with the required validity
- A scan of the photo page
- A passport style photo
- Flight details
- Your yellow fever certificate if your route needs it
Where we fit
We prepare the e-visa form, check the scan against the passport and watch the application. You do not have to queue at an embassy in Abu Dhabi, since the page we read says visas are applied for online.
Arrival day is the part you handle. Bring the printed approval and cash in the right currency in small bills. The officer does not give change.
Travelling the other way
Mauritanians who want to visit the UAE need a visa first. See Dubai visa for Mauritanians. For Africa trips with easier rules, compare Mauritius for UAE residents or browse visas from Dubai.
How it works with us
Send the passport copy and dates on WhatsApp or through the form here. An adviser confirms the e-visa route, quotes one total and waits for your yes. The team files, tracks the answer and sends the approval. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. Mauritanian authorities decide the e-visa.
If it is refused, the Mauritanian fee is not ours to return. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our total, if any, would come back.
