For a Netherlands visa from Dubai, you book your own slot at VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. This is for UAE residents whose passport needs a Schengen visa. The adult fee is EUR 90, paid in cash in dirhams or by credit card in euros. File at least 15 calendar days before you fly. The EU rule gives a decision within 15 days, or up to 45.
How the Dutch process works from the UAE
Netherlands Worldwide, the Dutch government's service for people abroad, publishes the UAE procedure. Three points stand out compared with other Schengen countries:
- You book directly. The Dutch page asks you to book on the VFS site yourself and to stay away from intermediaries that resell slots.
- One appointment per person. Each traveller in your family needs their own booking.
- Card payment is possible. Unlike Germany or Spain, the visa fee can be paid by card. The card is charged in euros.
The Netherlands must be the country where you spend the longest part of your trip. A week in Amsterdam with three days in Brussels is a Dutch file. Read the main destination rule on the Schengen visa from Dubai page if your trip has several stops.

Note the child age band. The Dutch fee page says 6 to 11. The European Commission page puts the child fee at 6 to 12. Use the Dutch table for a Dutch file, and ask VFS if your child is exactly 12.
Payment: cash in AED, or a credit card charged in EUR. Apple Pay is not accepted.
What Dubai agencies charge for the Netherlands
Dubai agencies publish a narrow range for a Netherlands tourist visa service: about AED 325 to AED 365 (published prices of 3 Dubai agencies, checked ). The EUR 90 visa fee is not in those prices where inclusions are listed.
Documents for a Dutch Schengen visa
- Passport valid at least 3 months after you leave Schengen, issued within the last 10 years.
- UAE residence permit and Emirates ID. The Dutch checklist sets a minimum validity after you leave Schengen; check it on the VFS page before you book.
- Completed Schengen visa application form.
- Passport photo.
- Travel medical insurance, EUR 30,000 cover, all Schengen states.
- Flight reservation and accommodation for the whole stay. Staying with family? Add a letter from your host.
- Bank statements for recent months.
- Employer letter or salary certificate with approved leave.
Steps to apply
- Check the Netherlands is your main destination.
- Fill in the application form and collect the papers.
- Create an account on VFS Netherlands UAE and book one slot per applicant. Book it yourself.
- Attend at VFS Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Pay by cash or card. Give fingerprints.
- Follow your file on the VFS tracking page.
The appointment guide explains what happens inside the centre.
Processing time
Netherlands Worldwide asks you to file at least 15 calendar days before you leave. The EU standard is a decision within 15 days, extendable to 45 when more checks are needed. In spring tulip season and in summer, file earlier so a delay does not cost you the trip.
Why Dutch visas are refused
- Purpose of the trip not shown clearly, for example no bookings or day plan.
- Not enough proof you will return to the UAE: a residence visa about to expire or no leave approval.
- Funds that look too low for the stay, or a recent unexplained deposit.
- Wrong country: the Netherlands is not where most nights are spent.
- A slot bought from a reseller, which the Dutch page warns against.
How it works with us
The Dutch rule is clear that you book the VFS slot in your own name, so our part is the file. You send your passport, Emirates ID and dates on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser confirms the Netherlands is the right country and checks your papers against the Dutch checklist. You get one total price before you pay. The team prepares the application form, the cover letter, insurance and bookings if you need them, and sits with you on the VFS booking screen if you want. You attend the appointment yourself. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. The Dutch authorities decide the application.
A refused application does not get its visa fee back from the Netherlands. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, would be refunded after a refusal.
