A Belgium visa from Dubai is a Schengen short-stay visa filed at VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. You book your own VFS slot, which is free. The standard decision time is two to three weeks, and the Belgian authorities decide. The Belgian embassy also says it does not cooperate with any visa agent in the UAE.
What the Belgian embassy says about agents
This is the most unusual part of the Belgium file, so here it is first. The Embassy of Belgium in the UAE warns on its visa page that:
- It does not cooperate with any visa agent in the UAE.
- An appointment slot at VFS for a Schengen visa is always free.
- Slots are first come, first served on the VFS website, and linked to the applicant's own Visa On Web form.
- Agents who claim privileged access to slots are fraudulent.
- The applicant stays personally responsible for every document, even when an agent hands in the file. An incomplete file leads to a refusal.
We agree with all of it, and it shapes what we offer. We do not sell slots and we do not promise earlier dates. We check your passport, read the VFS checklist for your purpose, prepare the form and the supporting set, and make sure the file is complete before you go. You then book the slot yourself through your Visa On Web form, or we sit with you while you do it.
Step by step
The embassy sets out the route:
- Open the VFS Global website and pick the visa type.
- Read the checklist for that type.
- Complete the application form on the Visa On Web portal.
- The portal sends you to the VFS appointment system. Book a slot in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
- Attend with the form, your passport and the documents. Fingerprints and a photo are taken.
- The file goes to the Belgian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
- Track the status online. VFS messages you at each stage.
- Collect the passport at the centre, or pay for courier return.
VFS accepts a file only if you apply at least 15 days before travel, the passport has at least 2 blank pages with no stickers on the back, the passport carries your signature, and the form is filled in, printed and signed.
Where VFS is
| Centre | Location |
|---|---|
| Dubai | Wafi Mall, Level 2, Falcon Phase 2, Umm Hurair 2 |
| Abu Dhabi | Level B2 (Lower Ground), The Mall, World Trade Centre, Khalifa Bin Zayed The 1st Street |
Submission runs from 9:00 to 15:00 and passport collection from 15:00 to 17:00.
Fees
Belgium charges two things. A VFS service fee, fixed, is paid online when you book. A handling fee for the visa is paid in cash or card at the centre on the day. The embassy page gives no AED amounts and points to the VFS site for the table, so we do not quote numbers here. The common Schengen fee is EUR 90 for adults and EUR 45 for children 6 to 12 (European Commission, checked ). Confirm the dirham amount at booking. Optional VFS extras such as a lounge or courier do not speed up processing, the embassy says.
What Dubai agencies charge for Belgium
Dubai agencies publish about AED 325 to AED 357.50 for Belgium visa help (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). One says the visa fee is paid at the centre. That range is theirs, not our price.
Processing time
The embassy's page, last updated on , says:
- The standard time is two to three weeks.
- Some nationalities need a Schengen-wide security check, adding up to two more weeks.
- If the Belgian Immigration Office reviews your file, add at least two more weeks. You get an automatic e-mail with a reference number, and from then on only the Immigration Office can tell you the status.
- The embassy does not answer status requests in the first 15 days.
- The passport is not returned during processing. Plan travel that does not need it.
You can apply up to 6 months before departure.
What to prepare
- Passport with two blank pages and your signature.
- UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
- Printed, signed Visa On Web form.
- Travel medical insurance, EUR 30,000 minimum, valid in Schengen.
- Flight reservation and a booking for each night.
- Bank statements and an employer letter.
- Legalised documents where the embassy asks for them. It has a separate page on legalisation.
Refusals
A refusal is a decision of the Belgian Immigration Office, which is the only authority that can refuse. The embassy states that it cannot comment on the reasons, cannot take extra papers to change the decision and cannot help with an appeal. The options are an appeal to the Council for Alien Law Litigation, within 30 days of the decision, or a new application with a complete file that answers the reasons given. A fresh, stronger file is often the more practical route when the reason was a missing document.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy, Emirates ID and dates on WhatsApp or the form on this page. A visa adviser checks that Belgium is your main destination and which VFS checklist applies. You get one total price before paying. We prepare the form and the document set and review it with you. You book and attend your own VFS appointment. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. The Belgian authorities decide, and our work does not change the outcome.
The authorities do not refund the visa fee after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our total, if any, comes back if the visa is refused.
