We prepare your Romania E-Viza request, check every document and tell you what the Dubai consulate will want to see, so your visit is short. A work visa starts with a Romanian employer.

A Romania visa from Dubai means a Romanian visa for a UAE resident whose passport needs one. For a short stay you fill in the Foreign Ministry's E-Viza request online, then present yourself at the Consulate General of Romania in Dubai. For work, the process is different: a Romanian employer applies first, and you only apply for the long-stay D/AM visa after that.

Two different visas

People search "Romania visa" for two very different things.

  • A short stay (type C). Tourism, family visits, a business trip. Romania has been a full Schengen member since , so this is a Schengen visa valid for up to 90 days in any 180.
  • A work visa (type D/AM). A long-stay visa for employment. You cannot start it yourself, and no agency in Dubai can start it for you.

If your passport is visa-free for Schengen, you need neither. Check Schengen visa from Dubai first if you are unsure.

Tourist visa: how the E-Viza route works

Romania lists one mission in the UAE, the Consulate General in Dubai. That is different from many Schengen states, which decide from Abu Dhabi.

The E-Viza portal (evisa.mae.ro) sets the rules we work to:

  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel and no more than 3 months before.
  • Everyone files separately, including children and minors travelling with a parent.
  • You need a valid e-mail address and the ability to upload documents. Files are limited to 2 MB.
  • An unfinished request is kept for 30 days.
  • Supporting documents should be translated into Romanian or English by an authorised translator, and you bring originals and copies when you appear in person.
  • The decision period is counted from the day you appear at the mission, not from the day you submit the form online.

Search snippets of the Dubai consulate's own site mention visa desk days and a decision time of a few weeks. We could not open that page when we checked, so we do not quote those figures. Look at the consulate's visa page for the current desk days before you plan.

Fees

Item Amount
Schengen adult fee EUR 90
Child 6 to 12 EUR 45
Child under 6 Free

What Dubai agencies charge for Romania

Dubai agencies publish about AED 325 to AED 850 for Romania visa help (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). One of them says the government fee is on top. This is a range of other companies, not our price.

What to prepare

  • Passport valid beyond your stay, with blank pages.
  • UAE residence visa and Emirates ID, valid past your return.
  • Travel medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000 covering the whole Schengen area.
  • Flight reservation and a booking for every night.
  • Recent bank statements and an employer letter or salary certificate.
  • A day-by-day plan if you visit more than one country. The state with the most nights is the state you apply to.
  • Translations by an authorised translator where a document is not in Romanian or English.

Steps for a tourist visa

  1. Count your nights. If Romania has the most, it is a Romanian file.
  2. Complete the E-Viza request and upload the documents.
  3. Wait for the consulate's message about your appointment.
  4. Attend with originals and copies. Biometrics are taken if required.
  5. Collect the passport and check the sticker.

For a trip split between Romania and other states, see Hungary, Slovenia and Bulgaria for how each of them files in the UAE.

The work visa: what is real

Many searches here are "Romania work visa from Dubai" and "Romania work permit agency in Dubai". The route as the EU Immigration Portal describes it:

  1. The future employer applies to the General Inspectorate for Immigration for a work authorisation, inside the government quota.
  2. After approval, you apply for the long-stay employment visa (D/AM) at a Romanian embassy, within 60 days.
  3. After you arrive, you apply for a temporary residence permit.
  4. With an employment long-stay visa you cannot change employer. You stay with the one who applied.

Romania also changed the system. Since , recruitment of non-EU workers runs through the WorkinRomania platform. Reported categories are D/AM1 for highly qualified workers and special groups, and D/AM2 for quota-limited jobs. When we checked the platform on , a banner said the employer registration, employer authorisation and D/AM2 application flows were switched off after a court decision. That can change, so ask the employer to confirm the platform is open before you pay anyone.

What we can do on this route: read the employer's offer with you, check your passport and papers for the D visa, translate and prepare your side of the file, and book your slot once the employer has the authorisation. What we cannot do: find a job, create a permit, or promise one.

Common refusal reasons

  • Wrong state. More nights elsewhere in Schengen than in Romania.
  • Missing translations. Documents not in Romanian or English.
  • Weak ties. Short UAE residence left, no leave letter.
  • A work plan on a tourist visa. Meetings are fine. Working is not.
  • Unpaid or unfinished online request, so no appointment is offered.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy, Emirates ID and your dates on WhatsApp or the form on this page. A visa adviser tells you whether you need a tourist file or a work file, and what Romania asks for in each case. You get one total price before paying. We prepare the E-Viza request and the document set, and you attend the consulate yourself. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. The Romanian authorities decide.

Visa fees are not returned by the authorities after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our total, if any, comes back if the visa is refused.

Questions people ask

Where do UAE residents apply for a Romania visa?

Romania lists one mission in the UAE, the Consulate General in Dubai. You start the request online on the Foreign Ministry's E-Viza portal, then present yourself at the mission. The embassy in Abu Dhabi is not the place for a Dubai file.

Can I get a Romania work visa from Dubai on my own?

No. For a non-EU worker the Romanian employer applies for the work authorisation first. Only after it is approved do you apply for the long-stay D/AM visa, within 60 days. A Dubai agency cannot start the process without an employer in Romania.

Is there a Romania work permit agency in Dubai that can guarantee a job?

No agency can guarantee a Romanian job or permit. The permit is issued to the employer's request by the Romanian immigration authority. Be careful with anyone who asks you for money to secure a work permit before an employer has registered.

How early can an Indian resident of the UAE apply for a Romania visa?

The E-Viza portal says to apply at least 2 weeks before travel and no more than 3 months before. Indian passport holders in the UAE follow the same rule as other nationalities that need a visa.

Do Filipino residents of the UAE need a visa for Romania?

A Filipino passport needs a visa for Romania, whatever the UAE residence status. The UAE residence only decides where you file. Each family member files a separate request, children included.

Does Romania have its own rules now that it is in Schengen?

Romania became a full Schengen member when land border checks were lifted on 1 January. A Romanian short-stay visa is a Schengen visa, but Romania still issues its own long-stay D visas for work and study.

Does the Romanian visa clock start when I fill in the online form?

No. The E-Viza portal says the period for deciding your request is counted from the day you appear at the Romanian mission, not from the day the online form is sent.
