A Finland visa from Dubai is a Schengen visa filed at the Finland Visa Application Centre run by VFS Global. The visa fee is EUR 90 and VFS charges a service fee of AED 85. A decision takes 15 days, up to 45. The centre takes short stay files only, so a Finnish work permit follows a different route.
What the VFS Finland centre takes
The VFS Finland page for the UAE states that the centre processes short stay visas only. That covers tourism, a family visit or a business trip of up to 90 days. It does not cover a residence permit for work, study or family. Those go to the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), which is a different office.
We could not open the Finnish embassy page for Abu Dhabi, so we cannot tell you which services it offers by appointment. If you need a consular service beyond a short stay visa, check that embassy's site first.

Agency prices in Dubai
Dubai agencies publish about AED 325 to AED 355 for a Finland Schengen service (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). That is their own fee. It leaves out the visa fee and the VFS service fee.
Documents VFS asks for
- A passport valid for three months beyond your stay, with two empty pages.
- Travel medical insurance with at least EUR 30,000 cover.
- One photograph that meets the stated specification.
- The papers on the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs checklist for your reason to travel.
VFS points you to that checklist rather than listing every row. In practice a Finland file also needs proof of your UAE residence, a travel plan with bookings, and proof of money and leave. We build it from the checklist for your case so nothing is missing at the counter.
Timing
VFS gives 15 days, longer if the application is incomplete, and up to 45 calendar days in complex cases. Applications cannot go in earlier than six months before the planned trip. Finland work permit from Dubai
People search "Finland work visa from Dubai" and "Finland work permit from Dubai". Finland does not issue a work visa at the VFS counter. A job is a residence permit, handled by Migri. The Migri pages that we could not open in full indicate the following, and we mark them as reported:
- the permit is applied for online in Enter Finland;
- you need confirmed employment before you apply;
- a first permit is applied for from abroad;
- a monthly salary minimum and a processing fee apply, and they change, so read the figures on the Migri page for employed persons.
We do not quote the figures here because we could not read the page ourselves. We can check your contract and documents against what Migri asks and tell you if something looks wrong before your employer files.
Reasons a Finland file is refused
- More nights planned in Sweden, Estonia or another country than in Finland.
- Bookings that do not cover your dates.
- Money that looks too low for the trip.
- A residence visa close to expiry.
