We prepare your file, you give fingerprints at VFS

A Norway visa from Dubai is a Schengen visa decided by the Norwegian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. You register online, then give fingerprints at VFS Global. The fee is EUR 90 for adults. Expect 15 days, up to 45, plus 7 to 10 days for the file to travel. Norway also reports its Gulf visa operations were limited, so check first.

Check this before you book

A Norwegian embassy notice, reported in search results, said the Abu Dhabi visa hub had reduced capacity and that new applications could not be submitted at VFS centres in the Gulf until further notice. We could not open that notice. The UAE embassy homepage we read showed no such wording. It listed the embassy and Dubai consulate closing on two days in September and a visa section that runs through VFS.

So we treat it as unconfirmed. Before you pay anyone, open the Norwegian embassy page for the UAE and the VFS Norway page and see whether bookings are open. If they are not, nobody can lodge your file, including an agency.

How Norway handles UAE files

The Norwegian Embassy in Abu Dhabi is the visa and residence permit hub for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and some other countries. It receives files from VFS and sends them electronically to the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) when needed.

One line on the embassy page matters to anyone using an agency. It says the embassy has no cooperation with any visa agents, and that VFS Global is Norway's official partner in the region. That is why we do not claim to file for you. We prepare the forms, check the documents and tell you what to bring. You register and attend at VFS yourself.

Agency prices in Dubai

Dubai agencies publish about AED 648 to AED 775 for a Norway Schengen service (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). Norway costs more than most Schengen countries at agencies. The ranges leave out the EUR 90 fee and VFS charge.

Documents and timing

  • Complete the online registration first. Without it you cannot hand in documents.
  • Gather the checklist for your category: tourism, business, family visit and others.
  • Translate anything not in English or Norwegian. The page says untranslated documents can delay or sink a file.
  • Bring a valid UAE residence permit, insurance of at least EUR 30,000 and proof of funds.

Apply no earlier than six months before travel, and as a rule no later than 15 days before. The embassy recommends at least four weeks because of courier delays between VFS and Abu Dhabi. That is longer than the 15 days other countries state. Read Schengen visa appointment in Dubai for general slot tips.

A Norway work permit from Dubai

Norway has no short work visa. A job longer than 90 days needs a residence permit, which UDI decides. For a skilled worker you need:

  • a concrete job offer from a Norwegian employer;
  • a degree, three years of vocational training, or six or more years of documented experience;
  • confirmation of the offer, sent by your employer, before you apply from abroad.

The UDI page says an application fee applies but does not show the amount. VFS lists NOK 5,400 for work permits in the UAE. We check the papers against the UDI list and flag problems before you submit. We cannot promise a place in the queue, as UDI says vocational jobs in restaurants, cars and construction may take longer.

Common reasons for refusal

  • Wrong country: more nights in Sweden or Denmark than in Norway.
  • Untranslated documents.
  • Booking too late, so the file is still travelling when your flight leaves.
  • Hotel plans with gaps.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy and Emirates ID on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. An adviser checks the VFS and embassy pages for the current status, then tells you whether Norway is the right country for your route. You see one total price before you pay. We prepare the online registration answers, build the document set and check each paper, and you book and attend VFS. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. The Norwegian authorities decide.

Norway and VFS do not refund their fees after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back if the visa is refused.
