A Sweden visa from Dubai is a Schengen visa filed in person at VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The VFS page shows the adult fee as AED 365 and a decision within 15 days, up to 45. Since March, Sweden's migration and visa matters are handled by its embassy in Amman, not Abu Dhabi.
What changed in March
The Swedish embassy page for Abu Dhabi says that from responsibility for migration and visa matters moved to the Embassy of Sweden in Amman, which is the regional migration hub for the Middle East and North Africa. In the UAE the practical effect is small. You still book and hand in your Schengen file at VFS. What changes is who sits behind the counter: the hub in Amman, not Abu Dhabi.
Two things follow from that:
- Sending a file or an e-mail to the Abu Dhabi embassy about a visa will not move it.
- The VFS page says the 15 days run from when the Migration Hub receives your file, so transit time from the UAE counts on top.

Agency prices in Dubai
Dubai agencies publish about AED 325 to AED 355 for a Sweden Schengen service (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). Those prices cover the agency's work only. The visa fee and the VFS charge are extra.
Which category to book
VFS Sweden lists these categories: tourist, business, visiting family and friends, study and training, sports and culture, medical treatment and EU family members. Pick the one that matches your reason, since the documents differ. All categories need a valid passport, a compliant photo, your UAE residence permit, travel insurance of at least EUR 30,000 and proof of funds.
The VFS page adds a warning worth reading: a visa does not automatically entitle you to enter the Schengen area, and border officers examine your right to enter again.
Timing
File no earlier than six months and no later than 15 days before your trip. The normal decision time is 15 calendar days, and 45 where extra checks are needed. Do not buy a non-refundable ticket. See Schengen visa appointment in Dubai for how slots work.
Sweden work permit from Dubai
"Sweden work permit from Dubai" is a different process from the visa. The Swedish embassy page states that work permit applications go online to the Swedish Migration Agency through its e-services, not through the embassy. For a residence permit, interviews happen by video link at the Abu Dhabi embassy, run by the Amman hub, and only when the Migration Agency asks for one.
The agency's work page states a salary floor: at least 90 per cent of the median salary, given as SEK 34,470 a month against a median of SEK 38,300. The text says "as of 16 June" and does not show the year. Check it on the page when you apply. Your employer's offer must meet it.

Reasons a Swedish visa is refused
- More nights in Norway, Denmark or Finland than in Sweden.
- Missing proof of funds or a weak leave letter.
- Booking a category that does not match the trip.
- A file sent to the wrong place after the hub change.
