Lithuania sits in the Schengen area, so most UAE residents need a visa for a visit. We prepare the file for a Schengen visit or for a national D visa, and explain the permit steps if you plan to work there.
Where the file goes
The European Commission's immigration portal says that when you apply from abroad you submit through the external service provider chosen by the Lithuanian Migration Department. A report from says the Lithuanian Embassy and VFS Global opened centres at Wafi Mall in Dubai and The Mall, World Trade Centre in Abu Dhabi, handling short Schengen (C) and long-term national (D) visas. The embassy site and the Migration Department site block automated readers, so we could not confirm the current centre ourselves. We check it and book the slot for you.

Working in Lithuania
A visit visa does not give the right to work. A law firm article dated , citing the Migration Department, says that from people on visa-free entry, Schengen or national visas, or other countries' residence permits need a Lithuanian temporary residence permit before they work. It lists exceptions, including staff posted by EU or EFTA companies and stays of up to three months a year for contract work or training. Treat this as reported until you have the Migration Department's own wording. We ask for it on your behalf.

- Choosing a C visa when the purpose is work or study, which needs a D visa or permit.

- Quoting the portal fee for a different category than yours.
- Insurance that does not cover the whole Schengen stay.
- Missing papers from the employer or school.

Timing
A visit decision is a matter of weeks, and a permit is a matter of months, so the order of your plans matters. Do not book non-refundable flights before the decision. For a permit, the portal times above start only once the file is complete. If the Lithuanian employer or school is slow with its papers, the clock does not start. Ask for their part of the file in the first week.
