We check your passport rule and file if a visa is needed

Last updated

Macau looks at your passport, not your UAE residence permit. The Macao government lists 88 visa-exempt countries with a stay for each: 30 days for India, the Philippines and Egypt, 90 days for the United States and up to 6 months for the United Kingdom. Other passports need a visa or an entry authorization.

What the Macao rule says

Passport Stay without a visa
India, Philippines, Egypt 30 days
United States 90 days
United Kingdom A maximum of 6 months
Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Kenya Not on the exempt list we read

Visa-exempt visitors pay no entry fee. The list changes by written instruction of the Chief Executive, so check the page again before you buy a ticket.

If your passport is not exempt

The page gives two routes. You can apply for a Macao visa in advance through a Chinese diplomatic mission. Or you can ask for an Authorization to Enter and Stay at the Visa Room of the checkpoint when you arrive, with fees starting at MOP200. It does not mention an e-visa.

In Dubai, ordinary passport holders file Hong Kong and Macao visa applications at the China Visa Application Service Center at Wafi Mall, not at the consulate. That rule has applied since . The centre adds a service fee and lists four working days, longer if the case goes on to the Hong Kong or Macao government. Source: the centre's notice, read .

What officers can ask for

  • A passport valid at least 90 days beyond the period you plan to stay
  • Proof of funds, with MOP5,000 as the minimum for a stay of up to 7 days
  • A return or onward ticket

Airline staff in Dubai check these before boarding. A short passport validity is the quickest way to be stopped at the gate.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy and dates on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser reads the Macao rule for your passport. If you can go visa-free, we tell you so and what to carry. If you need a visa, we prepare the file, check every document and book the slot at the Dubai centre, and you get one total price before you pay. We are a private visa service. The Macao authorities decide every application.

If a visa is refused, the government keeps its fees. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back.
