Mali requires a visa. UK government advice says the application and payment now run fully online through the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. The same advice tells British travellers not to go. The UAE has banned its own citizens from travelling there.
Read the warnings first
The UK foreign office advises against all travel to the whole of Mali. Its stated reasons are the unpredictable security conditions, terrorist attacks, blockades of key routes by militant groups, fuel shortages and a high kidnapping risk. Leaving overland is dangerous, and support for British nationals is severely limited. Latest update: . Source: GOV.UK Mali travel advice, read .
The UAE foreign ministry announced a travel ban for UAE nationals going to Mali on and urged those inside the country to return. Source: Etihad newspaper report of the announcement, read . The ban covers Emirati citizens. Other residents of the UAE are not named in it, but the risk is the same for them.
The visa route
- The visa is applied for and paid for online on the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website
- An electronic entry permit is issued when the application is approved
- Passport valid for the whole stay
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate

Who this page is for
If your employer, family or aid work takes you to Mali, check three things before filing a visa: your company's security advice, your government's current warning and your flight options. Insurers often exclude areas that governments advise against.
How it works with us
Send your passport copy and the reason for travel on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser reads the current rules with you and tells you plainly what they mean. If you still go ahead, you get one total price before payment and the team prepares the online file. We are a private visa service. Mali decides every application, and we promise no approval.
If the visa is refused, the government fee is not returned. Before you pay, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, comes back.
