A Russia visa from Dubai is easiest on the unified e-visa. It is single entry, valid 120 days from issue, and lets you stay up to 30 days. Russia says it is processed in no more than 4 calendar days. You can only use it if your passport is on the e-visa list. Your UAE residence plays no part. Dubai agencies charge about AED 295 to AED 700.

Who can use the e-visa

Russia's unified e-visa portal, evisa.kdmid.ru, decides eligibility by nationality. There is no rule based on where you live. A UAE residence permit does not open the e-visa to anyone who is not already eligible, and it does not take it away.

From the portal's nationality selector, which lists 65 entries, we found:

On the list (examples) Not on the list
India, Philippines, China, Indonesia United Arab Emirates
Malaysia, Viet Nam, Singapore, Japan Egypt
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain United Kingdom
Jordan, Iran, Turkey, Mexico United States
Many EU states

Emiratis are not in the selector. That does not tell you whether UAE citizens need a visa at all. Ask the Russian embassy about UAE passport terms.

What Dubai agencies charge for Russia

Dubai agencies publish about AED 295 to AED 700 for a Russia visa (published prices of 6 Dubai agencies, checked ). These are starting prices, mostly for the e-visa. One agency also sells a sticker visa route at a higher price. Not every agency says whether the government fee is inside the price.

Documents for the e-visa

  • Passport from an eligible country, valid well beyond your trip.
  • Digital photo that meets the portal's specifications.
  • Medical insurance valid in Russia for your full stay, unless exempt.
  • Planned entry date and where you will stay.
  • A card to pay the fee online.

Keep the insurance policy with you on the trip, not only on your phone. Border officers and hotels may ask about your stay, and a printed e-visa saves trouble at check-in in Dubai.

Steps from Dubai

  1. Check your nationality in the portal's list.
  2. Pick your entry date. You have 120 days from issue to use the visa, and up to 30 days inside Russia.
  3. Buy medical insurance that covers Russia.
  4. Complete the form on evisa.kdmid.ru, upload the photo and pay.
  5. Wait up to 4 calendar days for the decision.
  6. Print the e-visa and travel with it, your passport and the insurance.

Processing time

Russia's own figure is no more than 4 calendar days. Agency pages in Dubai often quote longer, from 2 days to over 10 business days, because they add their own handling. If you need a decision in a set time, apply directly or ask any agency how its time compares with the portal's 4 days.

When the e-visa does not fit

  • Your passport is not on the list. Egyptian, British and American residents of Dubai fall here. You need a regular visa from a Russian diplomatic mission. We could not verify the current Dubai consular process, so check with the Russian consulate before you book.
  • You need more than 30 days. The e-visa caps the stay. A longer trip needs another visa type.
  • You plan to leave and come back. One entry only. A Moscow, Minsk and Moscow loop breaks it.
  • You want to work or study. The e-visa is for short visits.

Why Russian e-visas get refused

  • Insurance missing or not valid in Russia.
  • Photo rejected for size or background.
  • Passport details typed wrong, so the e-visa does not match the passport at the border.
  • An entry date outside the e-visa's validity.
  • Nationality not eligible, chosen by mistake to get past the first screen.

How it works with us

You can file the e-visa on the Russian portal yourself. If you want help, send your passport copy and trip dates on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. A visa adviser checks whether your nationality can use the unified e-visa or needs another route, and whether 30 days and one entry are enough. You see one total price before you pay. The team completes the form, sorts out the insurance with you, follows up and sends you the e-visa. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service with no tie to the Russian government. Russian authorities make the decision.

The portal says its fee is not returned after a refusal. Before you pay us, your adviser tells you in writing what part of the total, if any, you get back if the e-visa is refused.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Can UAE residents get a Russian e-visa?

Only if your passport is on the unified e-visa nationality list. Living in the UAE does not add or remove eligibility. The portal's list includes India, the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and many EU states. Egypt, the UK and the USA are not on it.

How long can I stay in Russia on the e-visa?

Up to 30 days from the day you enter. The e-visa itself is valid for 120 days from the date it is issued, so you can enter at any point in that window, once. It is a single entry visa.

How long does a Russia visa from Dubai take?

The unified e-visa portal says it is processed in no more than 4 calendar days. Apply earlier than that anyway, because the 120-day validity gives you room and a mistake in the form costs time.

What is the Russia e-visa fee for UAE residents?

The Russian e-visa portal says a fee is charged and is not refunded, but it does not show the amount on its public page. You see it during the application. Dubai agencies publish about AED 295 to AED 700 for their service.

Do I need travel insurance for a Russian e-visa?

Yes, in most cases. The portal asks for medical insurance valid in Russia for the whole trip. A few nationalities are exempt by agreement between their country and Russia. The form tells you if that applies.

What if my passport is not on the e-visa list?

Then the e-visa is not an option and you need a regular visa issued by a Russian diplomatic mission. Egyptian, British and American passport holders living in Dubai are in this group, based on the portal's nationality selector.

Can I enter Russia twice on one e-visa?

No. The unified e-visa allows a single entry. If you leave Russia, even for a day trip, you need a new e-visa to come back. Plan multi-country routes so Russia is one continuous block.
