The prior approval list

The Permanent Mission of Solomon Islands to the UN has a visa information page. It says visitors with a valid passport, an onward ticket, enough funds and any other visas needed receive a visitor permit on arrival. It also lists countries whose citizens need prior approval from the Director of Immigration. The UAE is on that list, alongside India, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Nigeria and Kenya.

That page has no date, and the Ministry now runs an electronic visa portal, so treat it as a warning, not the current rule. For prior approval it asks for a passport copy, an itinerary, and the purpose of travel with a host address, a hotel or a company letter.

What UK government advice adds

  • Passport expiry at least 6 months after arrival, with 2 blank pages
  • Documents: passport copy, itinerary, hotel confirmation and proof of funds
  • Keep the Visa Application Reference Number, printed or as a screenshot
  • Yellow fever certificate if you come from a risk country
  • Portal delays: apply well in advance, and do not count on an on-arrival visa

Planning from the UAE

Flights from the Gulf are long and connect through other hubs, so a refused visa after you buy a ticket is costly. Buy a flexible fare, or wait for the visa. Check each transit country as well, because the connecting airport may ask for its own papers.

How it works with us

Send your passport page, plans and your UAE residence details. Our adviser tells you which visa fits, tourist or relatives and friends, and quotes one total price. After you agree, the team gathers the itinerary, hotel and funds proof, completes the application and follows it up with the Immigration Division. We never ask you to attend a visa centre. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, and the Solomon Islands authorities decide.

If the visa is refused, government fees are not returned. Before payment, your adviser writes down whether any of our own charge would come back in that case.
