Ukraine is a war-affected destination, so read the warnings before the visa rules. The UK government advises against all travel to parts of Ukraine and against all but essential travel to other parts. We check the entry rule for your passport and tell you what we could not confirm. UAE residence does not replace a visa.
Warnings first
The UK foreign office updated its Ukraine advice on . It advises against all travel to parts of Ukraine, including Crimea and the Belarus border zone. It advises against all but essential travel to other parts, including western regions such as Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk. Check your own government's advice too. Your insurer may not cover areas your government warns against.
The entry rule we could read
The UK government page on entry requirements, checked , says:
- British citizens can enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180 days. The page says this applies until .
- Longer stays need a visa from a Ukrainian embassy.
- At the border you complete an immigration card, give fingerprints if asked, and show enough funds with cash, cards, accommodation bookings or tickets.
That is a British rule. We could not open Ukraine's own foreign ministry pages, so for an Indian, Filipino, Egyptian or Nigerian passport we do not state a rule or a fee.
Ukraine's missions in the UAE
The UAE foreign ministry directory lists an Embassy of Ukraine in Abu Dhabi and a Ukraine Consulate in Dubai. Ask them which office takes visa files for the emirate where you live. We do not publish contact details.
Papers to prepare
- Passport valid for the whole stay
- Proof of funds and a place to stay
- A return or onward ticket
- Travel insurance that covers the region you plan to visit
- A clear reason for the trip
How it works with us

If a visa is refused, government fees are not returned. Your adviser writes down before payment what part of our fee, if any, comes back.
