We check your Chad visa file; apply on evisa.td

Last updated

Chad needs a visa for most travellers, and living in the UAE does not change that. The UK government says a visa is mandatory, and Chad has its own e-visa site at evisa.td. We check your passport, vaccination certificate and trip purpose, then file with you. Chad is a hard destination, so read the warnings below first.

What we could and could not confirm

The UK page on Chad entry requirements says a visa is mandatory and names Chadian embassies in Belgium and France as places to apply. Chad's own e-visa site, evisa.td, has a home page with news about new visa tariffs. The inner pages with fees and rules did not load when we checked in .

A visa news site reports that new applications go through evisa.td only, with older paper visas losing validity after late May. We read that on a media page, not on a government page, so treat it as a lead and confirm on the site.

Because of this gap we show no visa fee. Anyone quoting you a price should show where it comes from.

Paperwork the UK page lists

  • A passport with an expiry date at least 6 months after your arrival date.
  • Proof of yellow fever vaccination, if you travel from a country with transmission risk.
  • A passport photograph, needed for police registration if you stay more than 72 hours.

Stays beyond 72 hours need registration at the Commissariat Central, the police headquarters in N'Djamena.

Travel warnings

The UK foreign office updated its Chad advice on . It advises against all travel to Borkou, Ennedi Ouest, Ennedi Est and Tibesti, western Kanem including Nokou, the Lake Chad region and areas within 30km of all other borders. It advises against all but essential travel to the rest of Chad, including N'Djamena, and says in-person UK help is not available.

Check your own government's advice as well. Your insurer may not cover areas your government warns against.

How it works with us

Send a passport copy and your dates on WhatsApp. An adviser checks the entry rule that applies to your passport and tells you what we can file and what we cannot confirm. You get one total price before you pay. We are a private visa service, and Chad's immigration authority decides every application.

If a visa is refused, government fees are not returned by the authorities. Your adviser tells you in writing before payment what part of our fee, if any, comes back.

Chadian passport holders

If you hold a Chadian passport and want to visit the UAE, see Dubai visa for Chadians. For other trips from the UAE, see visas from Dubai and the neighbours Cameroon and Central African Republic.

Questions people ask

Do UAE residents need a visa for Chad?

A UAE residence permit does not replace a Chad visa. The UK government says a visa is mandatory for Chad. Your own passport decides the rule, so check it before you book. We do not publish a fee because we could not read one on an official page.

Where do I apply for a Chad visa from Dubai?

Chad runs an official e-visa site at evisa.td. Its home page was readable for us, but the pages with fees and rules did not load. The UK page still names embassies in Belgium and France, which looks out of date next to the e-visa site.

How long must my passport be valid for Chad?

The UK government says the passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the day you arrive in Chad. If yours is shorter, renew it in your home country or at your embassy in the UAE before you apply.

Do I need a yellow fever certificate for Chad?

Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you travel from a country with yellow fever transmission risk, according to the UK page. Carry the certificate in your hand luggage, not in a suitcase.

Is it safe to travel to Chad from Dubai?

The UK government advises against all travel to parts of Chad and against all but essential travel to the rest, including N'Djamena. It also says in-person UK help is not available. Read the current advice before you pay for tickets.

Do I have to register with the police in Chad?

If you stay more than 72 hours, the UK page says you must register at the Commissariat Central in N'Djamena and bring a passport photograph. Ask your host or hotel which office applies to your town.
