A UAE residence permit does not decide whether you need a Chile visa. Your passport does. Chile's consular site shows no visa for Emirati, UK and US passports, and a visa for Indian, Filipino, Egyptian, Nigerian and several other passports. We check your passport, prepare the application with your proof of UAE residence, and file it online.
Who needs the visa
Chile's rule is that a prior visa from a Chilean consulate is required only for nationals of certain countries, for reasons of national interest or reciprocity. The consular site has a nationality selector. We read it on for the passports most common among people living in the UAE.

Indian nationals have one extra exemption on that page: a US visa (not the C visa) with at least six months left, or a Green Card, removes the need for the Chile visa.
What the visa allows
The visa can be for one entry or several, and allows a stay of up to 90 days. After you arrive, the Migration Service can extend the permit by 90 days. You cannot do paid work on it, and you cannot apply for residence from inside Chile unless the rules are met. The visa does not guarantee entry.
Documents for an application from the UAE
- A form filled on the online platform, with the reason for the trip and the length of stay.
- A colour photo on a white background, no glasses or head covering.
- A copy of the passport data page.
- Proof of your own funds: the last three payslips and bank statements for three months.
- Proof of residence in the UAE, because you apply outside your own country. A visitor on an entry permit must explain the stay and show the entry stamp.
- Proof that you have no entry ban to Chile.
- For a multiple entry visa, a reason with the number of entries.
The consulate may ask for more, including an apostilled police certificate, and may call you to an interview with the originals. Files must be PDFs, with plain file names.
Steps
- We check your passport against the Chilean list.
- You send the documents. We check them against the consulate's list.
- We file the application on Chile's online platform.
- The decision is e-mailed to you, approved or refused.
- If approved, you receive payment instructions and 30 days to pay.
- The visa arrives by e-mail. Print it and carry it with your passport.
Chile's consular section for the UAE sits in Abu Dhabi. We found no published processing time for applications from the UAE, so leave several weeks.
Why applications are refused
Chile says submitting papers does not oblige the consul to grant a visa. The common weak points are thin proof of funds, a passport photo that breaks the rules, and an application that cannot show where you live. A refusal is also e-mailed, so check your spam folder.
