Golden visa for nurses

There is no separate golden visa category for nurses. A nurse qualifies on the AED 30,000 skilled salary route, or as a recommended healthcare specialist if a health authority nominates them.

There is no separate golden visa category for nurses on the ICP, GDRFA, ADRO or u.ae pages. A nurse in the UAE qualifies the same way other employees do: AED 30,000 a month, at least a bachelor's degree, a job at MOHRE level 1 or 2 and a valid licence. The other path is a recommendation as a leading healthcare specialist. In Dubai, GDRFA lists 48 hours.

If you read elsewhere about a nurse golden visa, check it against these pages. None of them has one.

What the official pages actually say about nurses

Source What it covers Are nurses named?
ICP golden residency guide Skilled professionals at level 1 or 2; leading specialists in healthcare on a ministry recommendation No
GDRFA skilled and specialist page AED 30,000 salary route; licence examples: physicians, pharmacists, teachers; elite health fields by nomination No
ADRO Abu Dhabi Health professionals with a DOH licence and endorsement; 5 years UAE experience for technicians and assistant roles No
u.ae golden visa page General categories No

So the question is not "is there a nurse visa" but "do you meet one of the general routes".

Path 1: the salary route

For most nurses this is the realistic path. It is the skilled professionals golden visa, and every condition applies in full:

  • Salary. At least AED 30,000 a month. Check your salary certificate against this figure before anything else.
  • Degree. A bachelor's degree or higher. A diploma in nursing does not meet the wording. A foreign degree needs a Ministry of Education recognition report.
  • MOHRE level 1 or 2. ADRO puts health professionals at level 2. Ask HR how MOHRE classifies your role.
  • Licence. Where the job needs one, it must be valid when you apply.
  • Salary proof. Six months of salary transfers in your bank statement.

If you hold a senior nursing role that meets all five, the route is open to you. GDRFA cancels the permit if pay drops below AED 30,000 or the contract ends.

Path 2: recommendation as a healthcare specialist

ICP lists "leading specialists in healthcare" recommended by the Ministry of Health and Prevention or the relevant local authority. GDRFA asks for a passport, the nomination letter and ICP approval. There is no salary rule on that route.

The pages do not say whether a nurse can be a "leading specialist". That is the recommending authority's decision, not ours or yours. If the Ministry or your local health authority is willing to recommend you, this route opens. Without a nomination, it does not. Our doctors' golden visa page explains the recommendation route in more depth.

Abu Dhabi

ADRO sends health professionals to TAMM under "Scientists and Specialists, Health Professionals", with a valid DOH licence, a bachelor's degree and a DOH endorsement. It mentions a 5-year UAE experience rule for technicians and assistant roles, but it never names nurses. Ask DOH or TAMM before you build a file. The Abu Dhabi golden visa page has the rest.

Earning under AED 30,000? Look at the green visa

The green visa asks for AED 15,000 a month, a bachelor's degree and a job at MOHRE level 1, 2 or 3. It lasts 5 years, needs no employer sponsor and gives a 180-day grace period. If your salary is between the two figures, this may be the residence that fits now.

Fees for a nurse's golden visa in Dubai

GDRFA item Fee
Residence permit fee AED 1,100
Knowledge and Innovation fees AED 10 and AED 10
Inside-country fee, if you are in the UAE AED 500
Card delivery AED 20

GDRFA adds AED 100 a year to the issuance fee for any residency over two years and shows no 10-year total. A normal medical test in Dubai is AED 270, and the Emirates ID is AED 100 per year plus a AED 100 smart service fee.

What Dubai agencies charge

Two Dubai Amer centres publish about AED 2,711.75 to AED 2,992.90 for the golden residence permit stage, with government fees inside and medical and Emirates ID extra (published price lists, checked ). Neither lists nurses separately. These are their prices, not ours.

Documents checklist for the salary route

  • Passport
  • Employment contract or salary certificate showing AED 30,000 a month
  • Bank statement with salary transfers for the last 6 months
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, with recognition report or attestation
  • Valid nursing licence
  • Health insurance for you and your family

Processing time

GDRFA lists 48 hours for this service group once the file is complete. ICP lists 2 days. A recommendation, if you go that way, has no published time.

Why nurses' applications are refused

  • Salary below AED 30,000.
  • Diploma rather than a bachelor's degree.
  • Role classified at MOHRE level 3 or below.
  • Licence expired or under renewal.
  • Specialist route claimed without a nomination letter.

Benefits if you do qualify

The golden visa runs 10 years without an employer sponsor. GDRFA exempts holders from the 180-day rule on time abroad. You can sponsor a spouse, children of any age and parents. The full list is on golden visa benefits, and the conditions for every category are on golden visa eligibility.

How it works with us

Message us on WhatsApp, or use the form on this page, with your passport copy, contract, degree and licence. A visa adviser checks your file against the salary route first and tells you straight if it falls short. If it does, we look at the green visa or a family route instead. When a golden visa is possible, you get one total price before you pay. The team prepares the file, applies with GDRFA, ICP or TAMM, books the medical and biometrics and follows up until the permit is issued. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. GDRFA, ICP or the health authority decides.

The authorities do not refund their fees after a refusal. Before payment, your adviser tells you in writing what part of our total, if any, you would get back.

Good to know

Questions people ask

Is there a golden visa category for nurses in the UAE?

No. ICP, GDRFA, ADRO and u.ae do not list nurses as a category of their own. Nurses use the same skilled professional rules as other employees, or the healthcare specialist route if a health authority recommends them.

Can a nurse earning less than AED 30,000 a month get the golden visa?

Not on the salary route, which needs at least AED 30,000 a month. The specialist route needs a recommendation from the Ministry of Health and Prevention or the local health authority instead. A nurse earning AED 15,000 or more with a degree may fit the 5-year green visa.

Does a nursing diploma count for the golden visa?

Not on the salary route. ICP and GDRFA ask for at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent. A diploma holder would need to rely on a recommendation as a healthcare specialist, and the official pages do not say nurses are covered there.

Do nurses need a licence for the golden visa?

GDRFA asks for a valid licence for professions that need one, and gives physicians, pharmacists and teachers as examples. In Abu Dhabi, ADRO asks health professionals for a valid DOH licence and a DOH endorsement.

What are the golden visa benefits for nurses?

The same as for anyone else: 10 years, no employer sponsor, stays abroad longer than 180 days without losing it, and sponsorship of a spouse, children and parents. On the salary route the permit is cancelled if pay falls below AED 30,000.

Can a nurse in Abu Dhabi apply through TAMM?

Health professionals in Abu Dhabi apply on TAMM under Scientists and Specialists, Health Professionals, according to ADRO. ADRO does not name nurses in that category, so confirm with DOH or TAMM before you prepare the file.
