Kazakhstan visa for UAE residents

We check your passport against Kazakhstan's visa-free list, file the e-Visa if you need one and tell you about the new QazETA step. Filipino passports are on the 30-day visa-free list.

We check the list and file the e-Visa if needed

Last updated

Filipino passport holders living in the UAE do not need a visa for Kazakhstan for a short visit. The Philippines is on Kazakhstan's visa-free list for stays of up to 30 calendar days. Other passports differ, and the rule follows the passport rather than your UAE residence. We check your nationality, file an e-Visa if you need one and watch the new QazETA step.

A short page on purpose

Kazakhstan's government site (gov.kz) and its visa portal would not load from our server, and the foreign ministry's pages were blocked. We would rather give you a short page with what we read than a long one with guesses. Three things we can say with a source, and the rest is marked as unconfirmed.

The Philippines: 30 days without a visa

The Astana International Financial Centre, a Kazakh state body, published the decree that added 12 countries to the visa-free regime. The Philippines is among them, with Bahrain, Colombia, Indonesia, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, the Vatican and Vietnam. Its wording is that citizens may enter and leave "if the period of their stay in Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days from the moment of crossing the state border".

The decree entered into force on . That is an old source. We looked for a newer official statement and could not open one, so ask us to confirm the days and any new conditions before you book.

Other passports in Dubai

We will not print a list of days for India, Egypt, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Nepal or Sri Lanka, because we did not read an official page for them. Kazakhstan sets entry by passport, so those residents should expect one of three outcomes: visa-free for a number of days, an e-Visa, or an embassy visa. Send us the passport and we tell you which one applies, with the source.

QazETA: the new step to watch

A report in the Times of Central Asia, dated , says Kazakhstan is bringing in an Electronic Travel Authorization called QazETA for visa-free visitors. According to the report:

  • It does not replace a visa and does not extend the permitted stay.
  • It was voluntary at the time, with a phased mandatory start planned.
  • Visitors were advised to apply through the mobile app before travel.

The fee and the dates were still being set in that report, and we could not read the government decree. This is a news report, not an official page, so treat it as a warning to check the position on your travel date. Rules like this can change within weeks.

If you need a visa

Search results say visa applications can be made on the e-Visa portal, vmp.gov.kz, or in person at the Kazakh embassy in Abu Dhabi or the consulate general in Dubai after booking. We could not confirm the fee or the processing time from an official page, so we do not quote them.

What Dubai agencies charge

Dubai visa agencies publish about AED 250 to AED 850 for Kazakhstan visa help (published prices of 2 Dubai agencies, checked ). These are for passports that need a visa or e-Visa. If your passport is visa-free, there is no visa to buy, so ask the agency what the fee is for.

What to carry

  • A passport valid for the whole stay. Ask us for the exact validity your airline wants.
  • A confirmed return or onward ticket.
  • A hotel booking, or the host's address.
  • Your Emirates ID or residence details.
  • The QazETA approval, if it applies on your date.

Where files go wrong

  • Relying on a list from years ago. Visa-free lists change.
  • Treating a UAE residence permit as the key. It is not, according to anything we read.
  • Skipping the QazETA check close to travel.
  • Paying a lookalike site for an e-Visa. Use the official portal.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy and dates on WhatsApp or through the form here. An adviser checks your nationality against Kazakhstan's current rule and tells you plainly if you do not need us. If you do, we file the e-Visa, check each detail against the passport and keep you updated on QazETA before you fly. You see one total price in writing before you pay. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service, and Kazakhstan's authorities decide entry.

Kazakhstan does not refund its visa fee after a refusal. Before you pay, your adviser writes down what part of our price, if any, would come back.

Other places to compare

Short trips to the Caucasus run on residence rules, so see Georgia visa for UAE residents. For the north, read Russia, and for the east the China visa for UAE residents page. Filipino travellers may also want Philippines visa from Dubai. The wider lists are visa-free countries for UAE residents and visas from Dubai.

Questions people ask

Do Filipinos in Dubai need a visa for Kazakhstan?

No, not for a short visit. Kazakhstan added the Philippines to its visa-free regime for stays up to 30 calendar days from the moment of crossing the border. That decree is several years old, so confirm it is still in force before you book.

Does a UAE residence permit give visa-free entry to Kazakhstan?

We found no rule that uses UAE residence. Kazakhstan sets entry by passport, and its list changes over time. A residence permit helps with your airline and return ticket, but it does not replace the check on your own nationality.

Where do UAE residents apply for a Kazakhstan visa?

Search results point to the e-Visa portal at vmp.gov.kz and to Kazakhstan's embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate general in Dubai. The government site did not open for us, so we confirm the current route when you send your passport copy.

What is QazETA for Kazakhstan?

It is Kazakhstan's electronic travel authorization for visa-free visitors. A September report in the Times of Central Asia says it does not replace a visa or extend the stay, and is voluntary for now with a phased mandatory start planned. Check before you fly.

How much do Dubai agencies charge for a Kazakhstan visa?

Dubai agencies publish about AED 250 to AED 850 for Kazakhstan visa help, from two agencies. Those prices are for passports that need a visa or e-Visa. A visa-free passport has nothing to buy.

How long can I stay in Kazakhstan without a visa from the UAE?

It depends on the passport. The Philippines is on the 30-day list. For other passports the days differ, and we could not read Kazakhstan's current list from an official page, so we confirm the figure for your nationality first.
