A UAE residence does not get you into Sudan: you need a Sudanese visa, and two governments warn against the trip. The UK advises against all travel because of the military conflict. The UAE foreign ministry warns UAE nationals against traveling there at present. We read the entry rules with you. We do not promise a visa and we do not advise going.
Read the warnings first
- UK foreign office, page updated : advises against all travel to Sudan because of conflict in Khartoum and other parts of the country. Its embassy in Khartoum is closed and no British consular staff are in Sudan.
- UAE foreign ministry, page dated : warns UAE nationals against traveling to the Republic of Sudan at present. This warning names UAE nationals. It does not cover residents the way the South Sudan notice does.

Travel permits are also needed to leave Red Sea State, with fees that vary by destination. Children under 18 need the father's consent or court papers on custody.
Your UAE residence and Sudan
It does not replace the Sudanese visa, and we found no waiver for residents. Its job is your way back. Airlines ask for it, and if it expires while you are away you may lose the right to return. Look at the end date before you buy a ticket.
Asking the Sudanese mission
Sudan is on the foreign ministry's list of missions in the UAE. No Sudanese government page we could open describes its services, so we list none. Put your questions on visas, papers and the exit visa to the mission itself.
