We prepare your file; allow 20+ business days

Last updated

For most passports in the UAE, Uruguay is a consular visa with a long wait. Uruguay's interior ministry says countries not on its exemption list need a prior consular visa, and its foreign ministry says authorisation takes at least 20 business days. We prepare and check the file so the consulate gets a complete set.

Who needs the visa

The interior ministry's admission regime, read in Spanish and checked , shows these passports among those needing a visa:

Passport Rule on that page
India (common passport) Visa needed
Philippines Visa needed for all passport types
Nigeria Visa needed
Egypt (common passport) Visa needed

The tourist stay is 90 days for eligible nationalities. The UK government page adds that British citizens can visit visa-free for up to 90 days.

The wait

The Uruguay foreign ministry page says authorisation takes at least 20 business days from the request, and then the consulate can stamp the visa. Apply at the consulate closest to your place of residence. Plan around that gap before you book non-refundable tickets. The page states no fee.

Pick the right category

Uruguay lists seven categories under its visa decree, number 356: tourism, business, work, study, family reunification, humanitarian or emergency, and conferences, conventions and seminars. A tourist visa does not cover a job or a course.

Embassy in Abu Dhabi

The UAE foreign ministry directory lists an Embassy of Uruguay in Abu Dhabi. We publish no contact details. Ask it whether it takes your file or points you to another consulate.

Documents

The pages we read give no document list, so we do not invent one. We ask the consulate for the current checklist and match your papers to it before filing. Typical items are a valid passport, a photo, a ticket and proof of funds, but confirm each one.

How it works with us

Send your passport copy and plans by WhatsApp. An adviser checks which category fits and asks the consulate for its list. You get one total before paying. We assemble the file, check it line by line and tell you when to attend. Uruguay decides the visa. We are a private visa service.

If a visa is refused, the government keeps any fee. Before payment your adviser writes down what part of our charge, if any, returns.

Questions people ask

Do UAE residents need a visa for Uruguay?

Your passport decides, not UAE residence. Uruguay's interior ministry list says Indian common passports, Filipino and Nigerian passports need a prior visa. Egyptian common passports also need one.

How long does a Uruguay visa take?

At least 20 business days from the request, says the Uruguay foreign ministry. The consulate can stamp the visa only after that authorisation, so book flights late.

Where do I apply for a Uruguay visa from Dubai?

At the Uruguayan consulate closest to where you live. The UAE foreign ministry lists an Embassy of Uruguay in Abu Dhabi. Ask it whether it takes the file or sends you to another consulate.

Is there a Uruguay e-visa?

We found no tourist e-visa on the Uruguayan pages we read. They describe a visa authorised by the ministry and stamped by a consulate in the passport.

Can British citizens visit Uruguay without a visa?

Yes. The UK government says British citizens can visit for up to 90 days without a visa. The passport must be valid for the stay and have a blank page for the stamp.

What visa types does Uruguay have?

Seven categories under its visa decree, number 356: tourism, business, work, study, family reunification, humanitarian or emergency, and conferences or seminars. Pick the one that matches your real purpose.
