UAE residents have two routes to Tajikistan. Passports on the e-visa list apply online on the Tajik government portal, where the consular fee is about 50 USD and the stay is short, up to 60 days. Other passports file for a standard sticker visa through the Consulate General of Tajikistan in Dubai. We check which applies and handle the file.
Which route fits your passport
The nationality dropdown on the e-visa form (read on ) included India, the Philippines, Egypt, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kenya, the United Kingdom, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. Nepal and Nigeria were not in it. The Dubai consulate page adds that depending on nationality extra requirements show up once you choose your country and dates.
Your UAE residence permit matters most on the consulate route. The consulate's own document list for a standard visa includes a UAE resident visa. On the e-visa route the form asks for citizenship and travel dates first.
UAE citizens do not need a visa: since Tajikistan allows them 30 days visa-free, under Government Resolution No. 464 of . That rule follows the passport, so living in the UAE does not add anything.

Source: Tajikistan e-visa portal FAQ and Get Informed page, and the Consulate General of Tajikistan in Dubai, checked . The two official pages differ on validity and stay. The consulate page describes a single entry e-visa issued for 90 days with a stay of no more than 45 days. The portal FAQ says 60 days and that multiple entry is possible. Read the portal text on the day you apply and trust the dates printed on your approval.
The GBAO permit
Gorno-Badakhshan (GBAO) is the Pamirs region, home of the Pamir Highway. It needs a permit on top of the e-visa. The permit covers GBAO except the territory of Lake Sarez. You pick it inside the e-visa form, which keeps the whole thing in one payment.
Rules from the portal
- The e-visa is for people outside Tajikistan applying for a short stay.
- The passport must be valid at least six months after the e-visa expires.
- Everything on the e-visa must match the passport. If not, it is invalid and there is no refund.
- You can enter through all border points.
- If you want to enter earlier than the date on the e-visa, you must make a new application.
- Overstaying can lead to fines, deportation or a ban.
- The portal suggests applying two weeks before travel.
The Dubai consulate route
The Consulate General of Tajikistan in Dubai issues standard visas. The steps are: fill in the online form and upload documents at the visa site, wait for the "pre-approved" email, book an appointment, attend with your hard copies, give fingerprints, pay the fee and collect the passport yourself. Children and diplomats do not give fingerprints.
The listed documents include a passport with two blank pages and six months of validity beyond the visa, a photo, your UAE resident visa, a NOC letter addressed to the consulate, a hotel booking, and for some categories a company licence and an invitation from a company in Tajikistan. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:00.
Why files fail
- Passport details typed differently from the machine-readable line.
- Going to GBAO without adding the permit.
- Applying for the e-visa with a passport that is not on the list.
- No invitation or licence where the consulate asks for one.
- Using a resident permit that is about to expire.
How it works with us
Send a photo of your passport and your Emirates ID, plus travel dates, on WhatsApp or through the form here. An adviser tells you if the e-visa is open to you, whether you want the GBAO permit and what the consulate file needs. You get one total price in writing before you pay, covering the fee and our service. The team completes the form, checks it against your papers, files it and keeps track of the answer. For the consulate route we prepare the pack and tell you what to bring to the fingerprint appointment. DubaiVisaDesk.com is a private visa service. Tajikistan decides every visa.
The consular fee is not refunded when an application is invalid or declined. Before you pay, your adviser lists in writing what part of our total, if any, would come back.
